Looks like Hugh Freeze may have been right. The next coach - Houston Nutt did pretty good until Coach O's players started leaving the program. Not too well after the O-effect wore off.
Comparing what nutt did with Os team is not helping your argument. By year 3, you should be improving and going up in wins, not down. By year 3, he could be had his guys as juniors. That's plenty of experience to win some ball games.
He didn't win but 2. TWOOOOO!
Even if you guys are right about him improving, isn't it hard to believe a coach could go from 2-10 to 13-0?, Which is obviously our goal for the next coach.

The reason being his overall resume is much more impressive than O's
You know, you keep giving Hermdude credit for what Urban Meyer accomplished. Does CEO get to claim the success Jimmy Johnson had at Miami? Ken Hatfield's success at Arkansas? Dennis Erickson's success at Miami? The two national championships while coaching at Miami? Paul Hackett's USC trojans? Pete Carroll's USC Trojans? Two national championships while coaching with the Trojans? Sean Payton's success with the Saints?
You keep saying how impressive Hermguy's overall resume is when he has only been a head coach for a year and a half. Well then again sir, you are full of shite. Ed Orgeron's resume includes four(4) national championships. Ed could give one of his NC's to Hermagan and still have more titles than Urban Meyer.

All as a dline coach?

Except Ed was never a coordinator on offense or defense for any of the teams you mentioned. Hermans only been head coach for a year and half yet somehow managed just as many wins as O in his entire career as HC.
If you hate Herman because of the kissing thing or whatever your internal reason is, that's fine, but don't make it out to be like he is some shitty coach and that O is somehow way more impressive. I've already conceded hermans losses are concerning. You're the one that refuses to give him the slightest credit for anything in his entire coaching career. Yet, i am the one that is full of shite?
Got any more "i hate herman" tracks you would like to recycle?

I like O a lot. I was freaking pumped when he can to lsu. I think he is excellent at what he does and is a great rep for LSU.
I also don't believe his resume is indicative a coach that should be hired to lead this program.
I don't believe that leading an pumped up, emotional, uber talented team gives enough reference to what he would be like as full time HC.
His past HC experience is just too much of an issue in my mind. Too hard to ignore, like most of you are willing to do.
This has nothing to do with 'liking' him.
Eta - I am approaching this hire as a business move...not a personal one.
Thank you for this sensible approach.
The simple explanation of his previous coaching record is enough to be hesitant about moving forward with him.
Sorry, but I'm not ready to hand over this multi million dollar athletic powerhouse to someone who does not have a proven history as a head coach.
I seriously don't understand. We beat an underszied missouri, southern miss, and a now unranked Ole Miss, now it's time to hand the job over? What? Then what are the standards for obtaining the LSU job? Is that it?
Give me a break. I will agree that he has a shot, and if he completely dominates the season, then yes, look at him. However, until then, let's not put the cart before the horse.
All options should be on the table.

It's strictly emotional for them...though they won't all admit it.
There have been hundreds of posters raving that O is "one of us" or that other coaches are POS's.
They are looking for a buddy to lead LSU, not a football coach.
Re: his ole miss days. I've never seen so many people blindly trust that a person has learned from his mistakes because of his first press conference. In no field, football or the corporate world, is that ever accepted when the stakes are this large.
It's truly amazing.

O was at Ole Miss for three years.
His first class would have been seniors the year Houston Nutt took over 9-4 5-3 SEC record.
His second class would have been seniors in Nutt's second year 9-4 4-4 SEC record.
His third and final class would be seniors in Nutt's 3rd season - also mixed with two of Nutt's classes - hence the 4-8 1-7 SEC.
Nutt's 4th season included none of CEO's recruits and he went 2-10 0-8 SEC.
Houston Nutt's best seasons were attained with pretty much all of CEO's players. The fact that Nutt went 4-8, 1-7 SEC and 2-10, 0-8 with his own players could lead one to believe that Coach O could have very well been 9-4, 5-3 and 9-4, 4-4 in his fifth and sixth years. It is evident that Houston Nutt did no better that CEO after CEO's players were gone.

I don't know about that, but there is a coach in the town I now live who is doing his best to do the opposite, so I guess it could be possible.

We're obviously fighting a losing battle with these guys, since they won't listen to reason or facts.
I think alleva has more sense than this...or at least I pray he does.

You know what, the only time I even think about it is when you bring it up. Which is quite often.
I don't know if I told you, but I went online last week and signed up to be a little league coach next summer. Guess what I'm going to do before every game? YEAH BABY !!!- in my Austin Powers voice.
I can't wait. I think we'll be a pretty good. A lot of potential anyway.

Not tonight, I'm about out of stuff for Hermageddon today.
Right now anyway.

Honestly, very little. Bit near as much as a dc or if obviously.
They are a piece of the puzzle.
If you can be overridden by 2 people on a staff of 9, you might get 5% of the credit. Just being honest man lol.

The first hire made would have been a coordinator from a rival SEC school. I would mention his name but apparently there are still people who feel that way and I don't want to have to hunt down my old posts to copy and paste to show how bad a decision it would be. And I'm not talking opinion but clips from the vast amount of articles that have been generated because of the nutcase.

Yeah. I had ignored tiger ree, but it was just too funny tonight because i could play by play call all his responses. Again the record just plays on loop with this guy. I don't know how Herman hurt him personally, but i guess he did. All while simultaneously defending Coach O to the death.
He continually says we should let the season play out, but has no willingness to let Herman's season play out. He just puts on his headphones and plays his anti herman record on repeat.
I think you have seen enough of my posts to know im not herman or bust. I like the guy, but he has higher risk due to his lack of resume. I'd take several other candidates as well though.
Hell, if we struck out on 5 or so candidates AND O won all or just lost to Bama i could understand why he got the job.
Like you said it's all emotion for these people. They hate or love a guy for some personal or relatable reason. Hes from here, he talks like us, he kisses his players on the cheek, he seems like a douche, etc. Etc.

He doesn't even know at this point, i think. Lol. He's just trying to be witty to make it seem like he somehow "won" this "discussion"...although it wasn't so much a discussion as a recording of anti herman rhetoric he must have saved on his phone or computer.

I haven't been up this late, besides to stumble out of bed to piss, in a long time. I am going to wake up and swear off drinking because of my hangover, until I realize I don't even drink. I usually feel like shite when I stay up too late.
