Why are some people against Pelini?

He's done a nice job at Nebraska, he's familiar with us and the SEC. Our defenses were stout when he was here. Am I missing something?

Of all the major coaches, I would rank him right below Frank Martin on the Bob Knight Anger Scale.

He's had some well-publicized meltdowns on the sidelines for Nebraska this past season. May step over the line between intense and overbearing, and looks like he can lose his focus when he loses his temper.

I wasn't overly opposed to Pelini, even though I wasn't all that supportive of him. But after reading about how he totally dissed a soldier, I think he's a POS. LSU shouldn't go anywhere near this jerk.

I don't like how he wears his hat(totally opposite style of Les). He also chews gum like Mike Ditka.

1.) Bat shite crazy
2.) Not 100% sure about this anymore but he had severe problems against the spread here. We play a lot of spread teams, especially next year. His soft scheme was especially exposed his last year here and he better drop the idea of 215lb S in the Nickel/Dime or he'll never be able to defend the spread here.
3.) Hasn't really done a lot to Nebraska in three years. They are better than they were but still mediocre.
4.) Can't recruit for shite, period. Didn't here and obviously isn't a great recruiter there.

Nebraska is ranked #16 in Rivals at the moment. Pretty good for a school that doesnt recruit itself anymore like it used to and has to go out of state to get its talent. Pelini would do just fine with LSU and all of the Louisiana talent. Recruiting would not be a problem.

IMO he pales in comparison to some of the other possibilities. I hope LSU would do whatever they have to to get Patterson or Peterson.

Read the same thing last night Montana Tiger and I agree dont need someone like that as a Head coach. Just imagine the stories to recruits about him not keeping his word. No sir, we dont need someone like him at LSU.

Why? What has he done that Pinkel hasn't? And don't gimme that BS about getting Nebraska back in the BCS hunt. Pinkel has done the same. Truth is they play in a garbage division and its not hard to win, but at least Pinkel has won 10+ games 3 of the last 4 years. And he recruits LA regularly so it's not like hes unfamiliar.

I don't have a problem with him being crazy and I think the recruiting knock on him is way overblown.
