Granted…. Our toes are just getting wet.

We’ve had 3 big name hires so far with Rhule, Fickell, and Freeze. Out of the 3… who do you see having the most success in the next 3-5 years?

And in the same breath, who’s going to make the most Meh hire, and why is going to be Aggie’s OC?

Wisconsin hiring Fickell is the best hire I think so far

I feel the same way. It’s very hard to argue against Rhule and Nebraska though.

Both are slam dunk big moves no doubt. Auburn with Freeze looks a little desperate.. ??

Rhule has a lot of work to do at a place that may be dead.

Fickell will have Wisconsin humming soon

I think Wisconsin knocked it out of the park with Fickell

Wisconsin.

Fickell has been one of the best coaches in college football the last several years and got a G5 team to the CFP.

He's a Big Ten and Midwest lifer who's won a ton and will fit in well at Madison.

I think it has to be Rhule. He has proven twice now he can turn around programs that are not marquee brands and were not very good when he got there.

He also has the NFL experience.

Freeze has multiple stops of winning and could be argued here, but we shall see. SEC is a lot diff than it was 5 years ago.

I get the feeling that Cincinnati will make a much better hire to replace Fickell than Auburn will after disposing of their last 3 coaches.

yea i really like fickel, but rhule is proven as frick on turning around programs. i think he will be extremely successful and have nebraska back to 9-10 wins within 3 years

i also think he will be more successful recruiting nationally than fickel.

i think all 3 have been really good hires though.

Easily Rhule to Nebraska, with Freeze to Auburn a close second. Both guys are proven program builders and winners.

I like what Fickell has done at Cincy, but trying to modernize Wisconsin might be a tall order. This is a place that still utilizes true fullbacks and 230 pound tailbacks as the norm.

Fickell
Rhule
Freeze

In that order. . .and Freeze is a great hire.

Wisconsin by a lot.

They didn't let the emotion of "their guy" interfere with the search, flew under the radar and got a top tier coach for the future.

Grand slam by Wisky.

I also think it’s critical they got a Midwestern guy, so they nailed that too.

Spurning Leonhard for someone with no connection to the region would have been too risky.

I do feel bad for Leonhard but I’m sure his agents phone is ringing off the hook with 7 figure DC job offers, he’ll be fine, and he’ll get his chance to lead a program

Though I like what Nebraska did. Failing in the NFL doesn’t seem to hamper coaches when they back to the college game
