Since leaving Ole Miss here is his resume:

-Saints DL coach under Payton
-Tennessee DL and recruiting coordinator under Kiffin
-USC DL, recruiting coordinator, and interim under Kiffin
-LSU DL and interim HC

So all these great coaches he's worked under and learned from? Sean Payton, Joey "it isn't how often you fall down, it's how many times you fall up" Freshwater, and the guy we just fired.

He said it, and everything he says is true.

He LOVES LSU, ALWAYS HAS, even when he was at other schools telling recruits not to go to LSU, even when he chose to go to Tenn instead of LSU, he LOVES LSU.

Hard to believe he picked LSU over all of those other job opportunities.

He went 6-2 at USC as interim coach and that's about the gist of it.

Why? Is his past experience not relevant? Should we start discarding coaching records and experience when hiring head coaches from now on? Are we the avant-garde?

I think you learn as much if not more from failure than you do from success.... unless your name is Les Miles.

It was part of his argument for the job. Hell, even Alleva used it today.

OK I hate the hire

I think we are paying him 3 mill to yaw on the sideline, and having to hire coordinators all the time is fricking playing russian roulet every offseason

But there is a big difference from what he did at Ole Miss, which was be the DC and try and call his own plays while being a head coach. Thats fricking dumb considering he had never done it before.

We need to pay Aranda whatever to stay. If he is smart he'll take 1 look at Texas's soft arse players and stay at least another year.

I have no Idea who our OC will be next year.

We need ot make that hire so we can fricking can Grimes.

Won a NC as an OC.
22-4 record as a HC. What was O's record again?

Agreed. I'm not saying his time here will be like it was then. But what did he really learn? Don't call plays when you've never done it? Rehash some shite from USC's glory days? As a total coach, I just don't see what he's referring to.

Because it was 10 years ago

If you think he is the same coach as he was 10 years ago, you're a fool

I'm not an O guy, but he said he learned from his mistakes. Maybe he did. I don't think I've heard him reference his experience since Ole Miss.

Go way back he has a great pedigree, Tom Ozborne, Jimmy Johnson. All the way to now.

He's probably a better coach than he was then

I think Mike Locksley is probably a better coach than when he was at New Mexico too. And he's been working under saban. Hire him?
