CCB:

Riley doesn't have enough playoff wins. Do not want

Also CCB:

We need to hire Napier or Aranda!

You people are fricking stupid.

2019 UGA 17, South Carolina 20. USC finished 4-8.

It happens everywhere.

You're still bringing up one offs as a reply to repeated instances by one coach that's already at a top 10 program with top 10 talent.

Good God yall are some drama queens on this board. I like Riley as I've said numerous times and would be happy if he's the coach. I'm simply saying (again) that he's not perfect and the fact that he's repeatedly played down to competition in a weaker conference is a cause for concern. There isn't a coach out there outside of Sabam that doesn't have any concerns. You're acting like you're related to the guy and that he's above criticism.

Eta: You actually brought up losses to try to prove your point vs SEC teams.

Saban lost to A&M this year and struggled with a shite lsu and florida team. Hell, the bama board has people wanting Saban to quit.

This is all there is to it. We all know QB is important these days, more important than any other position. At LSU he is going to have access to even better talent than he does at OU. If you can have great QBs and score a lot of points on a big stage, you can recruit anyone you want. That will be us with Riley.

Riley has not proven he can beat big names outside of the Big 12.

Riley missed his mid week media availability today. No doubt on the horn with Woody.

Name the coaches better than Riley that:

1) Can be got.
2) Have a better overall record over the past 4-5 years.
3) Have a better resume overall.

There aren't any.

OU beat No. 7 Florida in the 2021 Cotton Bowl 55-20.

The very game before that, Bama only beat UF by 6, 52-46. The 2020 Bama team destroyed everyone else by double digits, including Fisher, Day, Kelly, and Smart.

The only argument for other coaches over Riley is that the other coaches don't have the luxury of being a top 10 job with a top 10 roster. When that's the kind of nitpicking you have to do to find issues with a coach, you know he's good.

There's no guarantee that Fickell, Tucker, Franklin, etc would be any better at LSU. The only one we've seen have real success in the SEC is Freeze and I think we can all agree that isn't happening. Riley is rightfully in the top tier.

I completely understand your point of view, great post.
My main hesitation with LR is that I really don’t think what he’s done at OU is impressive, not necessarily an indictment on him….just no respect for that conference. Basically, I’m saying Stoops had him set up for success. I do think he would do well at LSU, any solid Coach would. Gut feeling is Napier is special, could be wrong

For how rocky OU has looked this season, Riley has made adjustments and his team keeps winning. Great coach

Baylor vs OU should be real interesting

Probably convinced Woody to go to OU. Who could resist that offer?

So your gut is a better indicator than actual results?

The mental gymnastics this takes is impressive.

We could use an Assistant AD. Good thought.

So today we're talking about actual results?

People have been shitting on OU and the Big 12 for years for their lack of defense. We all read the threads.

Now we think what he's done in that conference is impressive.

People used to say that the Big 12 champion shouldn't even qualify for the playoffs.
