He's heading to Florida when it opens

I don’t know where he goes, but it’ll be sooner rather than later. That UGA game got him fricked up.

5 HC jobs since 2007... yep, this guy seems locked in and waiting on just the right job.

Fired from two of them, so the "job jumper" label is misleading.
He only jumped from Tennessee to USC and from FAU to Ole Miss, two very understandable changes.

If you are talking long term, as in schools not looking for a coach, need to add Georgia, Tennessee, Penn State, maybe Washington, maybe Wisconsin. They are better/bigger programs. If they wanted him and would pay him, he'd leave. If A&M wanted him and would pay him enough, he'd go there today.
"Fit" is overrated. If Kiffin went to Ohio State and won he'd fit in just fine. He just appears to fit in at OM because he's winning. Billy Brewer and Matt Luke are OM alums and fit in with OM and they aren't like Kiffin at all.

But I understand that LSU fans are shite at reading so I'll give you a pass. Had LSU offered him the job as well as the appropriate amount of money(Only Lane could answer how much it would have taken), I'm sure there would be interest at the very least.

Maybe but I disagree. Lane hates shaking boosters hands and kissing babies. A&M has a huge booster presence. That is where the fit comes in. OM leaves him alone (booster involvement and twitter) and builds the brand around Lane. Not all schools would do that.

That is a good point and probably a big reason he didn't go to Auburn.

I'm not arguing otherwise. However....please read what I as well as the other posts closely.

Southern has a frequent problem of posting before thinking. He's more interested in "gotcha's" than having legitimate points.

Of the schools on your list Florida seems like the biggest threat. Decent chance they are looking for a new coach next year.
The others you mentioned likely won’t be looking outside of Bama whenever St Nick decides to retire.

I would have been quite alright had Woodward hired Lane Kiffin.

Damn that really is the list of schools that he would leave for. Only other school I might add is Clemson and MAYBE UCLA (only due to location). He’s pretty safe at Ole Miss. Winning 9/10 games at Ole Miss gets you a statue built. Not the case at any of those other programs. And the money isn’t much better.

I wouldn't add Wisconsin to this list.

Kiffin started at the top and worked his way down. Very unusual.
NFL>UT>USC on probation>Alabama OC>FAU> ole piss

And how rare is it for a HC to work is way BACK to the top? Just about every HC in today's college football worked his way to the top and maintained a high level of success. Plus, Lane never won anything of note at any of his P5 HCing stops to begin with.
