Yes, actually. He's not recruiting a flash in the pan type team like Freeze did (He will fit in perfectly at Auburn, BTW), but there's no doubt that each year he is pulling in better athletes. He's also very good at finding the diamond in the rough type players.

Better than Auburn, that's for sure.

I think it would take the right school with the right money to get him out of Ole Miss. He's a god there... look at the past 2 seasons. Started off hot, cratered, put 70 on some cupcake early this season and he's beloved again.

It's pretty low pressure, but since it's SEC he still gets the spotlight. He doesn't HAVE to beat anyone, the way (for example) LSU HAS to beat Alabama, A&M will HAVE to beat Texas, or Fla HAS to beat UGA. He goes to one of those, and he needs to win that game quick, or he's in hot water. Even with Miss State, who he has the edge over already, as long as State is solid he gets room to lose a few to.

Don't get the fascination with Kiffin! What has he done in his coaching career that merits all this talk? He's never won the West, never sniffed an SEC title and was fired from USC and the Oakland Raiders. He also left UT after going 7-6 and he's also never had a defense worth a flip. If the Aggies want another big mouth that won't win a thing, I guess Kiffin does make sense!

Go to one of the top tier jobs, and he's on the clock to win a title. Hell, even Texas A&M demands that.

And I suspect that in Kiffin's mind, you just aren't going to do that while Saban is at Alabama (and Kirby at UGA makes it worse). At best, you might win one, and then you're in the comparison game- did you beat him the next year too, or has Saban put you back in your place?

And then somewhere like A&M, they're going to fixate on your record vs Texas and LSU.

Even at Auburn, you're expected to win the Iron Bowl at home every so often, so you're on a 3-4 year hotseat to win one. You're given a year or so to get the program right, and then you better win that next Iron Bowl at Jordan Hare.

At Ole Miss, there's literally very little pressure. Beat Miss State in the Egg Bowl half the time, beat LSU every so often, win 8 games most of the time- you're golden.
