Lane can't take the LSU job while still under contract with OM? He has to breach his OM contract by resigning or say he,'s leaving

Then how has Morris accepted the Okie State job but will coach UNT in post season? Is Lane's contract different?

Well actually if you looking at what LSUndid with BK, they dont have to allow him to coach anything.

Pretty sure Purdue let Brohm go before we played them in 2022 bowl game. (Technically played 1/1/23).

Not sure Lane is allowed to stay and coach even if he wants to.

Saban didn't coach Mich St in their bowl game either after we hired him after the 1999 season.

OM wants to be able to have a great coach lined up as successor, too. They’d be hurting themselves with this hypothetical move, too.

Verge was asked that in an interview and he said he would wait until the end of the playoffs if it's the right guy.

What if North Texas has the same contract but both sides agreed they don’t care. They came to an understanding. It’s possible.

Ole Miss is not going to let Lane Kiffin commit to coach an in-conference rival then stick around.

If Kiffin is actively recruiting for LSU in a week and building his 2026 roster, then I don’t really care if he coaches a couple of games for OM. But he has to be recruiting and working the portal next week for LSU.

You hire a guy to give 100%. You can’t not give 100% to a playoff team. Be the highest paid coach at one of the top places or try to win a championship at a place you built.

Wish I had these problems lol

How about they just “suspend” him or “reassign” him to be a janitor for the stadium?

OM doesn’t HAVE to allow LK to do a damn thing they don’t want him to, other than leave.

I’m not saying a natty isn’t important to ole miss but right now they likely dgaf and pushing for whatever they can get out of Lane. They are soon to become 1 of 6 SEC teams who have made the CFP. Ole Miss….

In a few weeks they will be talking shite about how they have a CFP banner. This is big time for the runts.

Another side of this is, if Lane would remain coaching through the playoffs while committed to LSU, what would stop him from recruiting OM's best players to follow him. If I were OM, that would not be allowed. Besides, isn't there a former Giant's HC named Jidge @ OM that could coach the playoffs?

Is LK actually under contract with LSU? Would be a credibility killing thing to do if he isn’t.

Rumor is OM's first choice is Jon Sumrall. Auburn and Florida are also considering Sumrall. If they dont move, Sumrall can sign somewhere else. So the longer they hold Kiffin, they could potentially hurt themselves. What do they do? They can't hire a coach as long as they have a coach.

The LSU athletic director said that LSU was willing to wait until after the NC if necessary to get the right coach..... Take that for what its worth...

That tells me there’s no Plan B.
