The LSU side of academics don’t pay the coaches. The athletic department handles all of that. It’s a self sustaining system and actually makes a profit.

If she’s stupid enough to think that it makes any difference then she has no business being a professor. The money doesn’t come from the university and, in the long run, benefits her and the university if the donors hit on the hire. After all, much of the profits from the program go to benefit the school.
Those funds would likely have never gone to the university itself if it wasn’t given for athletic purposes. Some donors value things other than others
