With all the injuries LSU had he was able to hold Bama to 20 points. Georgia was supposed to have an all time great defense and they gave up 24 in a half. It would be crazy to move on from Daronte after how well he coached down the stretch.

You do realize Bama was completely flat against LSU and expecting to blow us out, right?

That sounds great. Except LSU did that to all their opponents once Orgeron got out of the way.

Fire Kelly already and make Daronte and Callaway co-head coaches. They've earned at least that!!!

Kirby is the worst game day coach in the SEC.

This board's obsession with Jones and simping for him shows why we ended up with a coach like Orgeron who's now unemployed.

Nevermind that the theory he was unleashed to be this mastermind after running a base junior high defense with no halftime adjustments for 10 weeks is also complete bs.

quote:

"When I went in during the open week, and said (what we were doing), and he put it in and didn’t blink. And he’s calling it. To call zero blitz, you gotta have some you know what. And he’s doing it, and he’s not blinking."

On the decision to move to 3-4 looks on defense...

"I told the guys we have to change going into Alabama. I was looking at the front, since that’s my expertise, and we weren’t stopping the run in the 4-3. You have to do different things … I knew some defenses we could put in that were better against the run, and they would change their blocking schemes. Why I was doing that, other people were researching, and Coach Coyle came up to me and said he’s got blitzes that he knows can get home, but they have to be zero. I said run them. We put them in, ran them all week and they have been working for us."

Not sure why this board refuses to mention Blake was a former DC and probably was brought on this staff to help with Jones inexperience as a DC. I don't know for sure but I wonder how much he had a hand in this defense especially the last part of the season? He's probably going to leave to be DC at SMU.

If Kelly hires him I’d be fine with it - but today doesn’t prove anything.

They’ve probably been preparing for Georgia for weeks.

It proves Ole Kirby is Les Miles 2.0. He’s had some bad losses since becoming the head coach at UGA.

O got more involved really?

This narrative needs to end. If it was because of O, why wait so long to get involved and do it only after you know you’re probably losing your job

But I trust BK to make the correct hire rather it be to retain or replace. He has a solid track record

He really is. Always has more talent than any team he faces except maybe Alabama. Always has an inept and boring offense with poor QB play. Piss poor game clock management. Loves running truck plays when they aren’t needed. Looks like a damn cartoon character.

I think Alabama wanted to blow LSU just like they want to do every single season.. The only problem was the Jones had figured out how to disrupt their QB. That’s something not a lot of other teams can say.. Just look at UGA tonight..
