It should have been, but just because it wasn't doesn't mean you settle for O at 7 AM on Saturday. Take your time and weather the storm. Frankly, I would have just given Jimbo what he wanted.

If Alleva knew he wasn't going to be able to pay and they were just hoping to get Fisher or Herman on the cheap, the smart thing would have been to have a back-up plan. Anyone with a brain could see Sexton wouldn't let Fisher go anywhere on the cheap, and it was pretty clear Herman was going to Texas.

Why wouldn't they have at least reached out to someone they could get for the money they were willing to spend? After the debacle last year with the leaks, how could you not have a plan already in place in case there were leaks this year?

Alleva and whoever is pulling his strings are completely incompetent if they really made a 'panic' hire at the last minute to be the HC of a multimillion dollar football program. It's LSU's most valuable property and they stumbled into the hire because of some bad PR? Because Mark fricking May pounded the desk and bleated like a little bitch?

Utterly fricking ridiculous. And really, really sad.

Think I remember seeing this exact same reply after last year as well.

There were articles that claimed it was true last year, as well.

And, as of Friday, Herman had a "handshake" agreement to be the next head coach of LSU, per a few media reports.

I think some of you people just eat up rumors. It is a different mentality now it seems.

Uptopar (or another golf related name) nailed Chavis calling it well before anyone else, then got his next hire wrong and people ripped him. Here they are making excuses so they can continue to be fed rumors.

At least that other guy with "sources" went out after he named who his sources were. That was actually entertaining.

The dude is a clown. And you people are clowns and sheep for hanging on to the words of an anonymous jerk off on an internet message board.

Pathetic mother frickers

I think any reasonable person would look back to last year and realize that there is no way that Jimbo to LSU was a "done deal".

I think the most reasonable explanation is that a "done deal" as defined by most people is completely different than the interpretation of "done deal" by LSU's weak, incompetent, naive, athletic director and administration.

Doubtful.

belowpar (RIP) was 100% on his "information" and did it in a very low key fashion.

I could tell you stuff about PP7, TM7, Ware, Wing, Miles, Steele, etc that would knock your dick in the dirt.

Then do it. Stop playing the attention whore and start telling the whole story. Idk why the board was so quick to forgive you, you were an attention whore this whole time and your sources were fricking shite

Well at least you didn't come on here and out your sources like that other idiot. Couldn't believe that Ruhtard did that. Attention whoring temper tantrum is what that was. Random, I for one completely understand. I have direct contact with 2 BOS members and a couple "purple jackets". My stepdad was on the BOS for 6 years. I've had inside scoop that didn't pan out. Never posted here thank god but I've told friends "done deal" before & looked like a fool. There is no such thing. You took it in the chin, but nothing was in your control

This is about as accurate as can be. I've also known several BOS members and actually floated a name that was considered before Dinardo was hired. The reasons for the decision to hire or not hire a coach isn't about the money. The money is there or can be gotten for the right deal. Political considerations as much as anything else come into play, including potential voting patterns of certain groups.

I had a good idea that Orgeron was going to be given very strong consideration after reading a comment from a friend, who is as connected as an alumni could be and is also a major donor. Reading the tea leaves isn't always easy in these type of deals.

I know many are disappointed that LSU didn't get a shiny new coach to feel good about. I think we got a new set of tires, an upgraded sound system, and a much needed alignment for our Porsche 911. Now, we need a driver that isn't afraid to hit the gas and geaux.

I believe Random does have sources and it is looking more and more, from the info that is coming out, that Alleva really did make an impulsive, spur of the moment decision. In fact, it appears to me that Alleva was the sole decision-maker in the whole process. That being said, looks like we are teetering on the fence, with the OC hire and the ability to keep Aranda on staff determining which side of the fence we fall on. I know its been rumored, but does CEO really have enough pull to get LK from Bama? I mean, if his Binder Plan was so good, surely one of the main selling points was the OC?!?
