Wait, hold up. I can tell you as an OU fan, the people you named would never hear anything important on this ordeal. Dean is mocked by OU fans. Former player, used to be good, but is now too old and doesn't have a lot of real sources.
That said, I know people who would know and I am kind of one them (ran OU Scout back in the day and help contribute elsewhere now), there is absolutely no smoke in Norman about Lincoln leaving OU. None. Simply put, as I've stated several times, he isn't leaving OU for another college. If and when he does leave, it'll be for the NFL.
OU just flipped a WR recruit from Oregon and is recruiting during the bye week. They will be at several games in person. Recruiting and winning the Big 12 is the focus of Lincoln and the OU program.
Edit: TBL is FOS. Every time I read his posts, I view it as satire. Every board has fake insiders. There's a guy named Grimlock in the OU world. He's wrong 99% of the time but he still has his lackeys.

And of course he’s still doing his job, absolutely. I would expect nothing less.
Maybe it happens, maybe it doesn’t (the playoffs are a big wild card). But OU people thinking there’s nothing to it would be expected given the circumstances, of course he isn’t telling OU people he’s considering it. He, his agent, and his wife would be the only people in the entire state of Oklahoma aware of what’s going on, by design, for obvious reasons.
And of course he’s still doing his job, absolutely. I would expect nothing less.

To be fair to TBL, all of his posts on this topic have been very hedged. I don't doubt we took a swing (of some level) at Riley, but I'm inclined to think BuddyBuckets is correct here.

TBL is a legend on this board, I've been a member for almost 20 years
when he hears something, there is something to it...he has many many "He called that one"...

TBL is a legitimate insider going back all the way to 2016 and that hiring. Had the scoop when a Texas a&m tried to hire Dave away from us. Had the scoop early about the self-imposed bowl ban. Many other things. He is one of the most highly regarded leakers by anybody that has a brain and frequents the message boards.
With that said there's another very reliable source somewhere else on the LSU message board universe, saying Jimbo is the guy and I put equal weight into this source and TBL. So what we have here is a good old fashioned coaching changes board shite show.
So just sit back and enjoy. These fun moments on the coaching changes board don't come around often and create legendary memes years down the line.

Regardless of whether Riley has been or will be offered the LSU job, I would think one of the motivating factors beyond money, would have been the conference.
But with OK and TX joining the SEC, I'm having a hard time seeing him make a move from OK to LSU

That has been what the rant keeps saying and wants due to impatience, but I think level heads know that getting the best coach for a generation trumps one early signing period any day all day. I don’t think anyone supposedly in the know has said anything has to happen by the early signing period
