Steve is on staff and can pursue his excellence in a position role.

Hiring Steve is a bait and switch. It's a betrayal of the promise made when O was hired. That promise was made to placate everyone's real concerns.

Hire someone else. Your recommended OC will still be on the staff and can assume the role at a moment's notice.

how does compare to the probability of LSU losing in regulation with ND starting on their 25, down by 3, with 2 min left?

making decisions from a place of fear and retreating back into what you know is an awful way to manage an organization. That's where the problem is. That's why this is a bad decision.

You could go hire a young up and coming OC from a small school like Okie State did. That would be underwhelming but it also would be bold and forward thinking.

This idea that all the fans want is a big name is a fallacy.

It's the epitome of a bad hire and as sure a failure as can be. Esminger doesn't even have a scheme he called Crowtons playbook. So basically we are going back to Crowton without Les Miles pushing for all runs?

“I will hire the best coordinators”
“We will have the best coordinators”

O to Alleva
Alleva to the fansbase

Ensminger and Sullivan are NOT bad hires!!! They would just be underwhelming for a fan base that want the hot shot.

Question....Who else might be hiring Ensminger for OC? Whats his demand like these days in the college football market?

Just curious

If Steve was so brilliant as a coach he would have got more than 125 yards of total offense against bama last year

lower, probably a good bit lower. I don't have the stats in front of me but it's pretty obvious that it's far more likely ND gets points from their 25 than their own 1 inch line. And that's assuming we didn't get it. In which case an ND TD only ties us.

It's coaching scared and it's clear O makes a lot of decisions from a position of fear.

Just wondering who are some of the WRs Sullivan has coached? I’ve seen his resume but hard to think of who was on the teams at those times.

Also, what’s chances that they still look at hiring a qb coach. Maybe let Micky go? Could this be another PR situation where waiting to let that out to try to keep NOLA coaches happy?

Steve does know his stuff. It would be interesting to see how Steve runs his O with full autonomy and a year to prep.

This is what so many LSU fans don’t want to know. But it’s spot on.

add this up top

I am just giving my opinion. I will not be happy if this does transpire. I am just sayng the status quo of 8-9 wins will be maintained.

The status quo will still show O the door! So relax!

Call me crazy, but I'd like someone who actually wants to be an OC to be hired as the OC.

You know what so many LSU fans have realized? That Steve would still be brilliant as a position coach and we'd have a second, even more brilliant OC if O and Alleva do what they promised.

He was a run of the mill OC in the 90's. The freaking 90's.

The game has changed y'all, and LSU continues to REFUSE to change with it. And some of you actually defend it. It's unreal.

Exactly. This should be enough to warrant keeping Ensminger where he is. Yes, he is brilliant, he is loyal and he's not going anywhere. But the "evidence" we do have, was an Ensminger-led offense failing to score a single point on Alabama.

So the above statement you made works both for and against your presented logic.

I am Sure he knows a lot but I cant Believe he chose to be a HS coach and a TE coach for almsot 2 decades if he really has what it takes to be an OC.
