Hey, Freeze is not in the bag from what I know. The problem is that the Auburn boosters are divided into 3 factions between Cadillac Freeze and Kiffin. And we know how dysfunctional that crew can be. I would submit the recent Netflix documentary on Liberty and the sexual scandal has removed much of the credibility of the Hugh rehab. Hugh probably fits right in at Liberty. But with all his upside Hugh brings a big risk and a boat load of baggage. Now having said that after the last 3 weeks and all that Lane has done off the field and on Twitter along with losing 4 out of 5 to finish the season, I get your point.

Not an Auburn fan by any stretch, but this diminishing of Auburn and its potential is petty bullshite.
I personally like Kiffin a lot, certainly more than most people on this board, and I believe that Auburn is a pretty large step up.
Ole Miss has never made the SEC Championship game and last year was its first ever 10 win regular season.
In just the last 20 years, Auburn has a won a national championship, played for another national championship and had an undefeated season that arguably should have played for a national championship.
They also had another undefeated season (1993) that did not play for the title due to NCAA probation.
Auburn has 7 SEC titles in the last 50 and Ole Miss has zero.
Ole Miss doesn't have a single season in the last 50 years to compare any of Auburn's best 12 seasons in that span.
The fact that this is an actually debate is silly.

Ask Nebraska how all that matters.

Lateral move at best
IMO it’s slightly bigger job
Ole miss is ole miss and they’ll always be what happened to them this year.
Thought they were the shite until they played their big brothers LSU and bama and got put back in the corner where they belong.
It’s what and who they’ve always been and will always be.
Thing is they have to beat miss state to keep fanbase happy
Auburn has to beat Alabama to keep
Theirs happy
Job security is at ole miss
Not Auburn

Nebraska is an example of "bad coaching hires can kill you regardless of your status"
Rhule is a fantastic hire.
There are no parallels between Auburn and Nebraska.

And just how do you know this? Been eating dinner with YellaFella?

Gus got 8 seasons. Tuberville got 9. Even Chizik got 4 and was only fired after it was obvious that he had completely lost the thread on the program (exactly like LSU/Orgeron).
This idea that Auburn runs through coaches like water is just a straight up lie.

Here’s my argument.
After 1 month of Aurbun saying he’s ours if we want him our coach his agent told you frick off and go kick rocks. And now you can’t hire Matt Rhule who you should’ve hired from the start. Oh and I don’t think Freeze wants any part of your shite. He’s going to wait for a bigger SEC job.

With all your resources, the Auburn opening seems to be trending towards a QB coach whose never been a HC, or even a play calling OC.
Who is that?

Just curious - how do you know this? How do you know that it wasn't Auburn that told Lane to go kick Rocks?
I asked this because it was yesterday that it was news on ESPN that Lane "agreed" to the Ole Miss contract extension - wasn't he offered this extension 10 or so days ago?? Why did he not sign it then?

This would be a classic Cohen hire. Please do it, John.

We didn't get Lane because Lane didn't want a buyout. Which is ridiculous

If you think Sexton would let Lane or any of his SEC head coaching clients who are getting overtures from other schools sign an extension BEFORE their final regular season game you’re an idiot. You know very little about the art of negotiating. I’m close to saying that you know absolutely nothing about it.
