If Auburn goes the mercenary route, they will end up like A&M.

Yeah, kinda like people saying it’s a lateral move. It’s really not, 10-2 is THE year at ole miss. Auburn has rattled off a couple natty appearances in the last 20 years. It’s clearly a step up from ole miss

1 national championship. Their second, and only other title, is 1959.
They are a small step up for sure, but they've never been consistently good for any length of time. Their last back-to-back double digit win seasons was in the 80s.
Auburn has a super high ceiling, but it's never, in modern football, played at that level for longer than a year at a time.

Ole Miss fans saying Auburn hasn’t really won anything
Posted on 11/26/22 at 7:21 am to AUWDE
I'm not saying we have. I'm saying Auburn isn't all that big of a gap.
In the SEC alone they are under Alabama, LSU, UGA, Florida, and Tennessee.

I think Lane should stay right where he is.

It is truly eye opening to see OM fans really trying to make this argument. Wow...

With all your resources, you have 1 more recent national title.
With all your resources, the Auburn opening seems to be trending towards a QB coach whose never been a HC, or even a play calling OC.
How Auburn fans perceive their football program and how the public football world perceive their program are two different levels.
It's a good job, a step up from Ole Miss. But it's not a great, can't miss job. The boosters are a major issue. You'll always be second in your own State. You play UGA annually. Your surrounded by traditionally better recruiting programs.

Yep.
Perfect for Mississippi

It's a good job, a step up from Ole Miss.
First you were arguing Auburn is practically the same job as Ole Miss. Now you're shifting the goal posts to say that we are inferior to Bama and Georgia and should be more dominant with it resources.
Not sure if you just didn't think that anyone would call you out on your flawed argument or what. Sad.

It is a step up, a small step up but a step up.
You seem to be claiming Auburn is some mecca while Ole Miss is a sun belt school, which just isn't true.

In the West there’s Alabama and many steps below that is LSU, take a huge drop and you are at Auburn, descend even further and you hit a bed of shite, descend further on the other side is the rest of the SECW.

Please show me where I claim this. (You can also point me to where I said Ole Miss is a Sun Belt school...)
I have stuck to my argument that Auburn is unequivocally a better job in nearly every single metric. Period. You have shifted from your original argument several times now because you have no evidence to back up your claims.

I see how you conveniently left out SECC, how many undefeated seasons Auburn could’ve been named NC (lost the beauty contest), or even records head to head with your program. Ole Miss fans have been hilarious with their dumb takes.

Is Chris Low reporting this as well?
