Fisher or bust!

Coach O is a great recruiter and I hope LSU can retain him in that capacity, but he should not be the HC

I think it's been Herman all along. The Jimbo "done deal" talk began after too many Herman stories began to affect his current teams' morale.

LSU diverted media to take attention away from their new coach.

Re the comment about retaining Coach O as a DL/recruiter: is there any chance that he would step back down & assume his old positions? As much as he gets, deservedly so, dissed for being a HC, he's in the top 5 if not higher in recruiting & he brought in most of the top players last yr & is on most all of them this year. Any feedback on this at all?

They are going to pay Herman $7-10 million. He's too unproven to offer that much

As much as I like Herman, I agree.

It's Jimbo's job if he wants it. Numerous metrics to iron out.

Probably the safest bet to make now.

I was told just a second ago that LSU money thinks that Oregon and Texas might get in a bidding war over Herman.

Then Herman is about to become a rich man. That's maybe the two worst schools to get into a bidding war with. Are there any schools that could compete?

And bust could be Larry Fedora. I'm hearing that Fedora is gaining some traction. PJ Fleck isn't going to happen. Dan Mullen isn't going to happen.

I would understand the hesitation to Fleck, but I'd rather him over Fedora.

Kelly? Gundy? I would turn to those two before Fedora, Fleck, or Mullen.

...haven't heard anything, but would sure suck to have him go after LA recruits for Saban. LSU needs to show him the $.

Even if he did, it's not like bama already has the number 1 class every single year anyway.

Yeah, next year O will either be:

-VERY-well paid DL coach and recruiting coordinator at LSU (like $750k-$1mil well paid)

Or

-HC at lower-to-mid level school (ULL, Southern Miss, Memphis... Along those lines)

think he turned down a big money offer from Tennessee last year but would jump at a LSU offer this year

He was offered that Tennessee Job during his first year at UNC, 2012, not last year.

I think he wanted to get his feet wet more at UNC before rushing to a big time job, but everything I've read says he's ready to move onto the next level now.

I've heard the "were happy in _____ "bit a thousand times. Means nothing.

This was said about Auburn's O, Floridas offense, RPOs, and take a look at Bama currently.
those are all the same offense, its the run spread, and yes that can win titles. the pass spread doesnt, you need balance, you must run the ball.

Nothing will be announced until after A&M... I think Monday after Thanksgiving is my guess.

Is it time to actually go read Larry Fedora's wikipedia page now? Is this actually a legit possibility?

Naw, Fedora/Holgorsen/O were/are just bargaining chips to keep the Fisher pricetag in the $6-$6.75 mil range

LSU would prefer to not pay Jimbo more than Saban (it's a hard sell that probably isn't truly deserved), but they might not have a choice.

Of course Saban will be getting into the $7-$8 million soon when he inevitably wins another championship.

He got his feet wet at Southern Miss. That's just an excuse to make someone feel better about choosing UNC over Tenn. Everything you've read where? Message boards? That's the same stuff I'm bringing to you about how UNC feels. I posted I know things can change. I just can't imagine the butthurt should a coach that most of you don't even want choose to stay at UNC over LSU.
