by GamecockUltimate: It really wouldnt be. Nothing about UNC is SEC. They dont give a shite about football, they are a very wine and cheese crowd. It would be an awful move.

All time record…

UNC 36 - UofSC 20

I guess you’d hate to see UNC give a shite.
And UofSC pulled off the win. ACC deserves all the jokes headed their way.
They’re not the most overrated, but as of this post they shouldn’t be ranked above Clemson. We’ll see what the Gamecocks do today.

ACC vs SEC is currently 3-3

ACC #2 FSU beat SEC #2 LSU
SEC #4 Tenn beat ACC #6 Pitt (OT)
ACC #2 FSU beat SEC #9 Florida (OT)
SEC #6 Ole Miss beat ACC #11 GT
ACC #7 Wake beat SEC #13 Vandy
SEC #14 A&M beat ACC #10 Miami

Tried to put these in the best ranking in each conference I could. Either way, I’m not seeing a huge discrepancy between conferences. The only thing that could really sway it is a UofSC upset of Clemson. Same for GT, but that ain’t happening.

Upcoming:

ACC #1 Clemson vs SEC #7 UofSC
SEC #1 UGA vs ACC #11 GT
ACC #5 Louisville vs SEC #8 Kentucky

Drake Maye is the guy. He's carried one of the worst defenses in college football to 8-1 and top 15 in the country.
Panthers fan here. Wish we had taken the picks. I like Burns, but until we find a QB I want as many chances to land the guy as possible.

I'm still stuck on how Roniah was able to get the actual girl whose photo he was using to take a picture for him. That girl must be just as gullible as Manti.

Also, the team selling Teo's girlfriend figurines as an empty box had me rolling.

I'm a Manti fan though. Love his outlook now and he seems like a good guy.
From all accounts (players, fans, HS coaches), Gillespie was loved at UNC and I think he’ll do great at Bama.

Looks like we’re likely adding Larry Porter to replace him. Good hire and I totally trust Mack on all staffing decisions, except that time he tried to hire Greg Robinson as UNC DC.
Where do you see him avoiding a hit in that gif?

Top 25 is going to be difficult to swing anytime soon, but when you get down to that part of the rankings, teams get really packed in together.

That +75 we’ll get next year should really help! Ha

UNC loses almost nobody - you saw their team in the Bowl game

Yep, return 21/22 starters from the Orange Bowl team. Though that ignores the two huge losses at RB and we lose Dyami Brown at WR and Chazz Surratt at LB. Those were the opt outs. Our 2021 team hung in tough against A&M though and will be a year stronger + adding in a top 10ish recruiting class & transfer Ty Chandler.

Should be able to give Clemson a run next year. Doesn’t hurt that we’ll have the best QB in the country in his junior year either.

Awesome work.

Where does UNC slot in your formula? Trying to see if Mack could get us in top 25 before he retires.

I hate ‘em. In my top 3 most hated with NC State & VT.

Conservatives: businesses should be able to serve who they want. If the Kentucky lady doesn’t want to serve cake to gay marriage, that’s her right

Conservatives also: Apple is censoring one of its clients and should provide services to anyone who is paying for them

For the so called conservatives that are constitutionalists, do you even understand the first amendment? This has nothing to do with it. It’s a business exercising fits rights as to who it’s clients are. I swear some of y’all are just dumber the a box of rocks and can’t free think for yourselves.

Liberals: Businesses should be forced to serve everyone. Denying services to citizens based on their viewpoints is discriminatory and unconstitutional.

Liberals Also: Celebrate Apple, Google, etc for denying services to citizens based on their viewpoints.

Ironic you go around championing free thinking and can’t see you do the same things.

TBT, I see both programs on a solid upward trajectory. Howell will be an issue, but I have no idea what he will have around him.

Mack will recruit well, and is a class act. Glad he went back "home" and is having success

Agree about the trajectory of our programs, but you do know what Sam will have around him. All but one of them return next year. Add in a top 10ish recruiting class and we should be solid next year.
I would love to play A&M in football again next year.

With recent changes to plans, we now return 21/22 players that started in the Orange Bowl. I saw y’all lost 4/5 starting OL.

How about a rematch next year in a bowl game? Meet ya there.

Assistant OL coach for the Panthers to be more specific.

Was hired as the Gamecocks OC.
I think there’s a Texas & NC battle for who can use other teams’s stuff the best.

NC State is still best at it though.

I don’t see the problem here....

You just made our point. Talking about people out of the game is for the losers!

Agree on the second part. Just replying to the posters who keep on with the ‘but we had players out too.’ Sorry, but losing 3 All-Americans on offense is a bit different.

Sounds like your coaching staff really let you down, then. Why on earth did they allow your 5th best RB carry the ball in such a critical spot?

Out top 3 were out for the game. Top two opted out and third string was injured. Our 4th stringer (a walk on who was awarded a scholarship) was just stuffed the play before.

If it’s on the coaches, it’s due to Mack’s approach to opt outs. He encourages players to make their own decisions on what’s best for their future instead of recruiting them to play the bowl game. As much as it sucks for the team and fans, I still think that’s the right approach.
I’m not mad at you for stating your case for your guys. IMO, there was a huge discrepancy in what A&M was missing and their value to the team vs UNC’s losses. That will be seen in the upcoming draft.

You’re right it doesn’t really matter. Y’all have the Orange Bowl trophy and we do not.

One more thing...that starting RB of yours getting injured is what won you the game. No way he breaks off the run Achane did.

How many RBs deep was UNC when they played A&M?

We played our 4th and 5th string RBs in the Orange Bowl. Top two opted out and third was injured.

Down three offensive players who were selected to an All-American team this year; and our leading tackler at LB who’s been 1st team All-ACC the last two years.

I dgaf how many stars they had. Some our best players had 3 stars.

Well then let’s talk about accolades they’ve actually earned on the field.

The three offensive opt outs we had all were named to an All-American team this year. This alone should squash your argument that A&M had equal losses.

We were also without our 3rd string RB and a second starter at WR. So yes, that was our 4th and 5th string options at RB.

The defensive opt out at LB was our leading tackler and was selected 1st team All-ACC each of the last two years.

It was a great game. Just be proud of your victory and stop trying to justify it as more than it was.....a significant bowl victory for your program.

Very depleted unc? Yo they had 3 offensive starters out A&m had 3 defensive starters out. Its a wash

Yes, very depleted UNC. It doesn’t really matter now since all you’ll remember is an Orange Bowl victory so congrats.

That said, you’re crazy to equate 3 defensive starters out (likely due to injury) to the 3 All-Americans on our offense who opted out. Keep in mind we also were without our leading tackler who opted out. This is before we discuss those lost to injury.

A wash? Nah
quote:

Ha, not at all. I was pulling hard for the Heels. Just saying UNC kind of slipped into that bowl with three losses in the ACC. Two being to bad teams.
Otherwise, like I said glad they showed up especially with the numerous star players opting out. Great game.

My bad and thanks for cheering us on. Yea, I was proud of how they showed too but still hard not to wonder ‘what if.’

You’re right that ND & Clemson making the playoff helped us secure the Orange Bowl. But without COVID altering our original schedule and forcing ND into the conference, there’s a good chance we could have played Clemson in the ACCCG.
quote:

Correct me if I am wrong...but only 1 of your losses was by more than one score? Seems to me to be a very competitive team. Looking forward to someone besides Clemson being successful in the ACC.

Cheers.

You’re correct. We’ve lost two games in the last two years by more than one score. ND this year and Texas A&M last night. The other 8 losses over the last two years were by an average of 4 points. We’ve been competitive with everyone we’ve played since Mack returned.

Cheers

Hearing a lot of OL coming back. And we have a Matthew's that was injured and one guy Jayden Robinson who is a young beast.

A lot of senior OL electing to come back for the free year? Do they not have pro potential?

How fortunate for your program if that is the case. We have two seniors using the extra year. An OLB that played in Orange Bowl and our 3rd best WR (6’3 possession & jump ball threat from Texas) who was injured and didn’t play last night.
