ULL, Tech, or ULM need to get smart and hire Bill Clark.

If the rumors are true and he’s ready to get back into coaching. Unreal job he did at UAB.

If he's back and healthy, he's the real deal

He’s healthy and apparently been poking around some open jobs this cycle. He was at odds with UAB’s AD and didn’t love how the program was managed at an administrative level. Watching UAB’s coaching search, I think Clark was justified

ULM has no money major upgrades are needed everywhere. They upgraded a couple of years ago and it wasn't even close to what's needed to compete with just the bad teams in College Fooball. ULM is only a stop for someone that needs a job. ULM should go down in clarification yesterday.

The Cajuns struggled this year with a 45 player roster turnover. Decimated by OL portal transfers (UF Torrence & Waites) and fall camp injuries(2 starting tackles).

Portal transfers:
LSU: Gardner & Lacy
Florida: Torrence, Waites, Johnson
TCU: Emani Bailey

That’s 5 All-SBC caliber players.

I’m not a Desormeaux homer, but he did a decent job for what he was left with. Should have won 3 more games. ULM, South Alabama and Troy. Growing pains for a young coach.

Didn't he just retire before this year?

Those were the things that gave me pause.

Troy and ULM were both trailing by 10 going into the 4th. Troy was 17 down about halfway into the 3rd.

But considering what ULL lost via the portal, Desormeaux didn't do a terrible job. I was not a fan of the hire, TBH. But he is the coach now and I think he did well enough to not be cut loose after 1 season.

Clark got a massive bump because UAB cancelled their season, leaving their CUSA members scrambling to replace their games with the program. The UAB football team was granted an unprecedented eligibility freeze on their players during that time by the NCAA, also granted grade waivers that allowed them to bring in kids whose grades were lower and get their GPA up. No other school was allowed such recruiting.

It pissed a lot of other CUSA members off as they were allowed to stay in conference even though one of the main member requirements was to field a football team.

I know UAB was getting pushed around by the state, but CUSA did not protect its other members abiding by all conference requirements.
