So that's rumored to be the list if Les goes....

Tubbs: Defensive-minded coach who gets his players to play hard and is good in big game. His downfall at Auburn was Tony Franklin. Getting up there in age, though, isn't he?

Malzahn: intriguing, but I am still Mike Archer scarred from hiring up-and-cominig assistants who have never been a HC. More of a stretch than I want.

Pelini: Frick no. Get ready for plenty of 8-win seasons. Just not a good fit.

I would take any of the three, but I am mostly intrigued by Malzahn since it could lead to The Chief being retained...I think Malzahn is to offense what Saban is to defense...

On the radio in Austin they had Lance something or other on from Jox radio and he said that he feels Les leaves and the leading candidate would be Patterson.

Malzahn would be an unmitigated disaster.

9-4, 10-4, 10-4. What do you base this off? He has no prior 8 win seasons. Quit posting out of your arse.

I think he would be the only guy that would improve the team. His teams execute extremely well.

If only we could get him.

actually, that was the point of my thread here. I want Patterson at the top of the list.

But, I just am going over the 3 names on the latest ESPN Insider article. Not particularly excited about any of them. And definitely don't want Pelini. Of course Joe Sham probably had something to do with that article, so who knows.

how do you think those NU teams would have faired in the SEC during that span? The Big 12 North is not the SEC West.

He's never won without at least one great player McFadden, Newton etc.

I have a close connection to Tubbs, he is happy to be out of the SEC.

The scrutiny is big in Texas but its nothing like this. He will not come back. Book it

I'll say this about Malzahn. He stopped chizik from kicking the field goal with :10 left last night and giving Oregon an opportunity at getting the ball back and a kick return.

doubtful...that is just posturing, so that is appears that he will be difficult to get...makes the other party raise their offer...this is all a game...

I agree with Chicken. Being a coordinator or career assistant is one thing. But this Malzahn guy is innovative with his craft. His rise from a very small high school, to one of the top programs in his state, to being the o coordinator on a national championship team in no time is telling.

Some people just have the Midas touch....

The ONLY one of this trio which would make me want to jump into oncoming traffic upon the hire would be Gus

how do you know it was Malzahn? I couldn't believe that they were going to kick with 10 seconds and two timeouts left...

How do you think Miles' Ok St. teams would have fared in the SEC. You can't make that comparison. He's got Big12 talent or less and is still winning 10 games and doing better than Miles did in the Big12.
