I'd be making it rain on Gary Patterson. The dude has a great defensive mind and has shown the ability to adapt and be successful on offense.

All of this on Mullen. Caught lightening in a bottle with a ton of seniors. Will have at best a .500 record next year,probably worse.

I don't think many want that headache right now. And the top guys won't leave where they are at.
I could be wrong but look at how their last 4 hires for HC have gone. They don't bring in guys from same level as they are.

Maybe they should look to Utah once again and go after Bronco Mendenhall at BYU. Their status as an independent will make that job less attractive as the years go by. He may want to get out while the getting is good.
