You may actually be right about one of them.

I'll do it.

I'll take the job.

Good lord, the hall of fame of failed retreads. UT needs someone hungry to make a mark. LSU's last two hires (both somewhat successful) have been smaller school up and coming coaches. UT needs to do this or even a coordinator. Someone hungry and willing to go the extra mile to make it work.

Good list ... , though Monken might be a stretch. Petrino is the choice based strictly on coaching, but he has lots of "baggage." It's probably going to come down to Fedora or Tuberville.

Tubberville is the obvious choice.. Tons of connections with high school coaches in the Metro ATL area and doesnt carry near as much baggage as Petrino.. He has shown that he can beat Saban as well

Tuberville is 58. I think they need to go younger and hungrier. Someone though who has major college coordinator experience or HC experience (not necessarily BCS conference HC experience). They need to give him 4-5 years. They need to be patient. This will not be a one year turn around.

Fedora isn't going anywhere. Said so today.

I would take Monken in a heartbeat if I am them.

Jim Leavitt, call him up and see if he would at least entertain taking the job before going the coordinator route.

I think they are too focused on making a splash. AU went after Malzahn, with one season of HC experience. Freeze had no HC experience before this year. A top notch OC would be the best thing for UT.

Freeze had one year of HC experience at Arkansas State, same as Gus.

My mistake. But the point is the same. You do not need to hire a Gruden or a JDR (for LSU fans) to make a really good hire.

Sarkisian would be intriguing. No recruiting ties to the South, but hmmmmm.
