This hire will not be made in the next 2-3 weeks. If Mel Tucker can get Michigan state to 11-1 or 10-2 this year then I think he deserves consideration.

If he finishes that good Michigan st will offer to raise his current 5.6 million salary. LSU gonna get into a bidding war for Mel fricking Tucker?

I just read that. Wasn't really familiar with him. 14-12 career. ??

I don’t want Tucker, and don’t really believe he’s a candidate, but he’s in year two at Michigan State and has them 7-0.

Trying to paint that as some kind of negative is a weird flex. He spent 1 year at Colorado and last year was his first year at MSU during Covid.

The guy will likely land an elite college job in the next couple years. He can fricking coach. I would take him over James Franklin in a heartbeat,

And Aranda is 8-8. There’s literally zero difference between he and Tucker, yet this board has drastically differing opinions on both.

Aranda was at LSU with great success recently, so there is familiarity. That’s understandable.

Because:

They are familiar with Aranda.

And

Aranda has never been total shite as a DC at more than one stop. Tucker has.

On top of that Tucker had a losing season at his first HC stop that he somehow got parlayed into a power 5 job.

His 7-0 record this year: not a single team with a winning record on it.

If he were white, he wouldn’t have even come up as a candidate. Pretty awful that LSU is even considering him, but LSU can’t seem to get out of its way. I’m holding out hope Woodward doesn’t bet his legacy on that nonsense.

It’s understandable because that’s the way this idiotic fan base thinks. If he was the DC somewhere aside from LSU he would be viewed just like Tucker.

You do realize that we aren’t hiring anyone real soon, so a lot of the questions about Tucker, Aranda and others will be answered?

These games they haven’t played, will get played, and their stock will go up or down.

If you’re gonna hire a UGA DC Lanning is a much better choice than Tucker. Lanning is white though.

I hope Woody would hire the best available hc of Kim Mulkey and Jay Johnson caliber and not subject to fricking Louisiana politics.

I like Tucker, but I would prefer Aranda.

I think those bashing Tucker are idiots. The dude can coach, but I think Aranda is a better fit.

I really want Kiffin, though.

Saban's track record coming from MSU wasn't spectacular. Just saying.

Just stop with this... yes we know..... in the year 2000 or so. The game has changed. ALOT. Tucker wont be the hire and now that I have realized that fricking Ryan Clark is the one pushing this shite then I am more than sure it wont be now.

Agree that Tucker would be a total gamble. He doesn’t have anything on his resume that allows him to be the head coach at LSU. The worst resume of the list.
