dbuchanon- you gayturds have no choice but to play FSU. You seldom travel outside that mud hole you call a swamp. Let's not get started on that cream puff schedule you have year in and out. Your fan base is wanting your coach fired. Don't get so high and and mighty in your jorts.

People get so caught up on a programs history. The landscape has changed. When evaluating programs the first thing you do is evaluate the resources that are available. OU is a harder job and program to maintain now.
Now OU has a better history but they do not have the resources that LSU has to be a better program.
OU, Nebraska, Notre Dame are not the jobs they used to be.
Agree with that
If you want to consider an easier path argument for outstanding programs in sub-par conferences then that's fine, but with the state of the SEC East we're in a weaker position to discuss SEC strength as a category than we were five or ten years ago (the west is tough but the east is really a pretty bad group of seven teams). If you get forgiveness for a single loss you really only have to go 2-1 or 3-1 against top 15-25 teams in your division, a task a NC contender is up to as a rule.
I do think Texas is generally the best job in the country. They do run their conference, they have plenty of advocates in the media when they are good, they are the name program in one of the two or three most talent rich states in the country, they have as much money or more as anyone. If the Strong firing were to occur perhaps that's more debatable if a substantial backlash from: media, advocates for minority hiring, and some of Austin's more concerned citizens become upset and disruptive. Will this be a major issue? I doubt it will be more than a week or two of chatter at the end of the day.

Oklahoma University has it's own airport?

Yeah, UF is scared of the LSU team that let the mighty Auburn team get their HC fired
Clearly, its true. UF maneuvered out of the game, not LSU.

Stoops has grown stale at OU. It might be time for a change for both parties. Something like OU or ND might reenergize Stoops.

I'm sure this has been said but if you were actually interviewing Stoops there is zero chance it happened at OU or in Norman

OU typically recruits in the top 10-15 and currently has a top 5 class....they pay over 5 mil a year and have a 300 mil upgrade being completed in 16/17. How could LSU be considered a better job?
They are probably about the same, although OU is definitely on a different level as far as program prestige goes.

Vandy was all Florida could handle.
Congrats on the 3 losses

OU was a dumpster fire when Stoops took over, granted Blake left him enough talent to win a natty.
Stoops has won a natty, dominated that conference, beat Nick, made college playoff, been in other national title games. Creative enough on offense, recruits LA.
My only negative would be defense but maybe he gets better defensive talent at LSU, please don't bring Mike Stoops with you.

We don't need to be hiring a 56 yo coach.

LSU needs to step up their Plane Game, that prop duster is weak..we should be rocking at least a G5
