After watching the PC this morning something's are starting to become a little more clear. I believe them emphasizing that AD is not the highest priority right now is a sign and I think that it's going to be Nick Saban. His relationships with Mark Emmert and Skip Bergman when they were in leadership roles at LSU no doubt had a lasting imprint on him. This would be a new chapter and challenge for him at his age that he could get excited about for a university that he loves and would love to leave his imprint on. Let him finish the season on game day and then once it's over announce it.

Of course they will say they are actively looking for a head coach because they can't just come out and say anything other than that. Then Lane or Lanning will accept the job of head coach as he knows them both very well. Pipe dream I know! Then go out and bring in Kelvin Sheppard to be DC and groom him as well.

Imagine Nick Saban as the LSU athletic director as LSU plays Bama at Bama on Nick Saban Field.

I can imagine that a little easier than him getting back into coaching and standing on the opposing sideline.

Not saying it's impossible but they have put out feelers to AD candidates not named Saban.

Saban suggested Houston Nutt when he left the first time.

I’m good.

Saban wants to still influence football and this would be a way to do it. Not sitting on a set holding Pat McAfees chair as he plays up to a crowd.

Yeah... let me know how targeting Saban for AD actually works out for you. In fact, PLEASE record the phone call you make to him or meeting you have with him to ask him to accept the position.

It'll go something like this...

Corrected it.

Jams Dalton, Alabama's Provost, is a finalist for LSU President - could be named on Nov. 4th. He brings Greg Byrne with him as AD. Nick Saban named head coach.

I don’t see Saban wanting to manage NIL and revenue sharing for an entire athletic department.

Why is this a "fantasy land" thought?

You're telling me you wouldn't even give the greatest football coach of all time a call while he has "retired" to a job that has him traveling the country still anyway?

The guy said "target", not "Nick Saban will be then new AD".
