This guy is a very good recruiter, players love him, and he has an excellent football mind. I think he'd be unbelievable with Bama's resources and support.

It’s Lanning and then Deboer. After that Sark then Norvell

Then they are fricking up. None of those scare me like Norvell.

Deboer would be a disaster IMO. I don't think Sark will leave UT for Bama. Maybe after Bama's next coach fails and is fired in a few years.

I agree about Norvell. Hopefully he fears what FSU fans will do to him if he bolts to Bama of all places.

he seemed kind of soft to me...

he couldn't handle the pressure cooker at Alabama

Texas is happy with Sark too and they have deeper pockets than anyone really, besides maybe A&M. And Sark has a good thing going in Austin. Agreed he wouldn't jump.

DeBoer doesn't seem like a fit.

Lanning seems great, but he is really unproven. He's very green and only had a seasoned vet for QB in a weaker conference and lost to Washington twice with what I think is more talent than Washington top to bottom.

Norvell has turned two programs around in impressive fashion.

Haha, it'll be funny to see Bama hire Deboer. He isn't all that!

Sexton guys about to get raises:
-Norvell
-Lanning

Sexton guys that will get a push to Alabama:
-Drinkwitz
-Matt Campbell

I think Dabo may be the guy at the end of the day though.

Norvell is a very good coach, but when nearly his entire starting roster opted out of the Orange Bowl I think his credibility took a big hit.

It's also hard to recover from a 63-3 game. Ask TCU. They haven't been the same since.

Not really. They were 14-0 and got left out. Don’t think anyone really blames him for them for skipping out on a bowl game neither team cares to be in

If anything I think he came out looking pretty good given the post game speech everyone loved

Norvell would be monstrous at Bama. DO NOT WANT him there.

I think Lanning could be very good there. Very good.

Deboer, I don't think its the right job for him even though he's a good coach.

Florida State might benefit from Saban's retirement more than anyone else.

They may be a popular choice for a lot of the players Bama had been signing.

Bama hiring Norvell would at the very least make this possibly less likely and keep Bama head & shoulders above FSU.

Norvell might actually be the best hire all things considered. Hiring Oregon's HC does nothing to hurt rivals.

He'd do well, but I disagree about the monstrous part. To me, that is unproven. But he'd be another face in the crowd in the SEC.

No it didn't. Anyone who paid a little bit of attention knew that FSU was going to have a ton of players sit out the bowl game regardless of who they were playing. It just didn't matter once they were left out of the CFP. And absolutely no one blames Norvell for it. Hell, I would have told the guys going to the NFL to sit out as well.

What difference would it have made if 5 or 6 more of their players were on the field against UGA? 55-20 instead of 63-3? Who cares?

I think this is the most logical choice.

No matter who they hire it’s going to be a decline. Alabama is very open to having their asses busted 3-5 times a year moving forward.
