is that a risk worth taking

Yes because if Bama is trying to poach our coach, it means that he’s killing it. Bama will hire the best available whether it is someone from Saban’s tree or not. shite like this can also be prevented with buyout clauses.

Can you imagine the first back to back 10-2 regular season?

Everyone says this but as long as there is good administration in place they will be ok. That’s what everyone fails to recognize about Alabamas “down period” after stallings and before saban. It was run by the good ole boy network. And to chickens point I don’t really think someone like Napier or Tucker have that much of an attachment to Alabama. They could accomplish just as much at LSU. No point in leaving

Yeah but Alabama fans have more unrealistic expectations than LSU fans and they'll be ready to fire the new guy if/when he misses the playoffs 2 years in a row, which is going to happen for most coaches.

No matter who it is there will be a world of pressure. Def will be coach with skins on wall.

Neither Napier nor Tucker seem to be as much of a "Bama" guy as they were studying under Saban. As such, if they have success at LSU then I don't see them giving up what they established for the allure of Alabama simply to follow in Saban's footsteps. Others might be more of a concern.

forget that time period. Saban has been there since 2007. He has only lost 18 games in last 14 seasons. That is dominance and don't think they veer far from the Saban tree upon his retirement.

In one post you want someone to forget the time period when Bama was mostly mediocre, yet your last sentence in that post is the very kind of approach that had Bama mediocre at that time in the first place.

Georgia is his alma mater and can match any offer. I don’t think that’s happening.

No coach wants to follow a legend. The first coach that follows Saban won’t last three years. Coaches know this.

Mike Dubose and Mike Shula were bad hires. Alabama isn't making those types of hires again.

Texas has been swinging and missing for years. It's not an exact science.

If they have a good administration nobody is firing a coach after two 10-2 seasons, I don’t really care what bubba from Eutaw thinks

Who in his right mind would want to succeed Saban at Bama?

Probably someone who is motivated and can use his talent. Probably the same people who would take the LSU job after they fired their national championship winning coach less than 2 years later. Because they think they’re good enough
