Wait...what?

A member of Muschamp's staff was arrested in October for beating the arse of a guy who was dressed up as Will Muschamp..the guy was also holding one of those huge cardboard checks made out to Will Muschamp in the amount of the buyout.
He was fired today and the story went public.

There was also a large gap between Ole Miss and LSU, during which Orgeron got more experience, worked under several coaches, and was also a pretty successful interim coach.
Neither Belichick nor Carroll were bad coaches in their first gigs with the Browns/Jets.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it isn't just luck...there were tangible reasons to believe these guys could succeed.

This is a great train wreck. Thanks for bringing it to my attention
Hell yea.
Love stories like this for some reason. It's just so weird and funny in a sad way to see grown men who've made it further in their respective careers than 99.99% of people to just absolutely frick up the basics. Like these people could never have gotten this far in life without supremely good communication skills relative to their peers. Yet here we are, where in this situation, that's all gone completely out the window.
It's beautiful.

I regret making fun of Tennessee’s shitshow a few years ago. We are even worse

I do, too. Can't even imagine the fun times that'll unfold when we do fire Muschamp and start the hiring process.

3. The University just issued a statement within the past 45 minutes that they deny that Tanner had any contact with FSU and certainly did not contact them regarding any sort of buyout information leading everyone to wonder if Caslen lied or Tanner lied or the University is lying or..most likely scenario..they are all a bunch of bumbling, retarded, mindfricked headcases who are incapable of discretion or the ability to communicate on the most basic of levels.
It always blows my mind that the people doing this stuff are rich. These guys make like $500k - $700k per year for this horseshite. It's unbelievable.

Auburn's Jetgate back in 2003
First thing that popped into my head while reading the OP.
And hey, that worked out pretty damn well for Auburn the next year as we went undefeated.

Not even close. USCe fans have yet to come out in full mob mentality over false accusations of sexual abuse by a coach the AD is trying to hire.
There may never be anything that roos that damn debacle of a coaching search they put on. Especially when goddamned Phillip Fulmer comes out on top and calling all the shots. Holy shite that was craziness on a whole new level

My alma mater is an absolute embarrassment right now. We hire a bumpkin baseball coach as our AD. He then engages a coaching search in 2015 that results in us hiring someone who couldn't win at Florida. This is after we had a 2-month head start on every other program to find a coach.
Next, that same AD and the influence-peddling pieces of shite on the BOT give said coach a ludicrous $22 million buyout when nobody else in their right mind wanted him as a head coach.
After this debacle, the university has to hire a new President. After paying a consulting firm $250k to name 4 finalists, of whom Robert Caslen is the presumed choice, the university reopens the process. Governor McMaster then intervenes and calls a BOT vote over the objections of the faculty and some of our biggest donors. Caslen is approved in a 10-8 vote.
A divided university. A pissed off fanbase. An incompetent administration. There isn't a bigger dumpster fire right now in the P5 than the University of South Carolina.

Let's start some juicy rumors based on facts.
Steve and Jerri Spurrier along with GA Mangus have all been in Columbia for the past 3 days. Frank Martin was quoted as saying, "He can't stay away. He's awesome" regarding Spurrier who went by to see him yesterday. They took in the WBB game the night before. Oddly no mention of him meeting with or speaking with Muschamp.
HBC to USC for OC and Mangus somewhere on his staff.
Would be glorious.
(Yes, a pipe dream but a girl can dream.)

Ole Miss folks say “hi.” They conducted a national search (well, not really Ole Miss, but the higher education board) for a new chancellor and hired the guy they paid to be a consultant, meanwhile leaking the names of candidates who were supposed to be kept confidential, and with no input from university constituencies. Needless to say, the candidates were pissed. Likely no one outside will ever apply to be chancellor when the current chancellor leaves. No one in their right mind would trust the board to keep names confidential. By the way, the new chancellor has no experience in administration at a four year university, though he was former head of the higher education board and a community college president. And they just hired their interim AD after a “national search” as the permanent AD. I expect the Ole Miss family feels your pain.
