So in current program status, yes, a lateral move. In income potential, an absolute step up.

winning at liberty will be a lot easier than in the sun belt.

In terms of money and facilities, Liberty is a significant step up from Coastal.

Fwiw, LU is committed to becoming a strong football program… and they’ve got the money to do it.

Conference affiliation is the only ting CC has on Liberty. Everything else isn't even in the same ballpark. This is like questioning a coach for going from Vandy to Oregon.

Meyer had apx 15 year’s combined experience coaching at Ohio St, Colorado St and Notre Dame. He’d been a head coach at Bowling Green and Utah, and went undefeated and won a Fiesta Bowl at Utah.

Grad assistant at Ohio state and 4 years as a receivers coach under bob davie. Big whoop.

4 years total and 2 head G5 coaching stops running an unconventional offense.

Chadwell has had successful programs at 3 different stops running an unconventional offense and had an undefeated regular season in 2020. Except he didn’t have a future 1.1 at quarterback for his undefeated season.

He’s in fact more proven than urban was.

You can’t discredit his exposure to programs the level Ohio St, Notre Dame, Colorado St and Utah. Chadwell’s highest level of coaching is at Coastal Carolina. And he’s done well.

Not sure how unconventional offenses, undefeated “regular season” and 3 low-level CFB jobs helps your argument or is applicable. And while Meyer had Alex Smith some credit goes to Meyer for his success. Not to mention Utah played teams like Texas A&M, Arizona, Air Force, BYU, North Carolina, Pitt. Chadwell’s teams face Sun Belt schools. Of course I only point this out to go by your standards. My standard is they both get credit for success vs like schools, with like resources. They’ve both won, credit due.

To say Chadwell is more proven than Meyer was when he took the Florida job? What? I’ll just respectfully disagree with that statement.

Chadwell doesn’t have the chops Napier had when he left for UF, yet you have been one of the most vocal destroying Napier.

I’ll admit I have the luxury of knowing the end of the story with Meyer. But even if I go back to Meyer standing at the podium when he was hired at UF, his resume to that point dwarfs Chadwell’s.

Respect for your opinion and effort to defend it. Just have to strongly disagree at this point in time. In 5, 10years we can relook at Chadwell, but there is a low chance IMO he sniffs the type of success Meyer has had in big time college football - not many coaches will.

Is Chadwell dirty or did Charleston Southern or whatever just have a terrible compliance department?

Chadwell is a good coach I’m kind of surprised this is his best offer. I think he might be better than Freeze.

Liberty has some money to throw around. I think people are going to be surprised by this.

Letting him bring whole staff if he chooses.

This is the rub I've always heard about Chadwell, and the reason USC didn't earnestly pursue him. It's something Liberty is more inclined to do.

Honestly Liberty should reconsider joining CUSA. I’m guessing they were having a hard time filling the schedule, but they should have waited for something better to come up. The new CUSA is going to be a lot of travel, and poor football

You have to be in a conference to get one of the future playoff auto-bids. Right or wrong, no conference wanted Liberty’s baggage until the CUSA was put in a desperate situation.

The conference affiliation will help Liberty even if CUSA is a shite show.

Just continue scheduling 3-4 solid P5 games OOC and there's a path to the playoff.

The difference in SBC and CUSA is not as significant as the difference in Liberty resources and brand vs Coastal.

Started by Ole Miss fans to counter the rumors of the Lane Train leaving. Absolutly nothing to it.
