Tennessee to begin formal interviews Tuesday

In Florida. It's expected that Al Golden will get the first interview Tuesday and Jimbo Fisher will listen to Tennessee as well this week, though he may not formally interview since it is game week for FSU. While in Florida, will they visit with Jon Gruden? VolQuest says:
Tennessee will continue the interview process later this week and early next week at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. Charlie Strong and Butch Jones are interested and could be among those interviewed in New York.
Tennessee is expected to have a coach in place by the end of next week.

That's anyone's guess at this point, but multiple sources continue to say that Gruden to UT seems like an unlikely possibility.

I do not understand why people think Fisher is going to leave FSU.

Hart hired Fisher at FSU and named him coach in waiting. Jimbo is also pissed about not getting facilities he was promised and is looking for an increase in salary.

Can't wait to see what that broke arse school gets for a coach.

NO WAY!

Actually FSU is getting new facilities, also remember that Jimbo has a son with some kind of health concern being treated in Tallahassee.

Only school Jimbo will leave FSU for is Auburn. No way he goes to Knoxville.

It isn't fair to Jimbo to have to choose between these two dumpster fires, but he doesn't have too.

I think Golden would be a good hire. I don't understand why Butch Jones is getting consideration from major programs. He seems to have basically rode Brian Kelly's coattails after Kelly had already laid the foundation and built the programs at CMU and Cincy.

If he's looking around, I think it's towards us.
For the longest time, word going around was that an announcement would be made after the SECCG. Jay Tate said recently that the latest we go is next Monday or Tuesday, which conveniently fits in with Jimbo finishing with the ACC Championship Game.

I don't think he is either, but some of the reasons people listed here are probably not why.
I don't know what kind ailment his child has, but there are doctors everywhere, and any university worth its salt can line up top notch care for just about anything.

He very well may not, but it's very much on the cards right now.

Dooley hasn't left the state, yet, it is not too late Tennessee, don't make the same mistake you made with Fulmer, go to him hat in hand while there is still time.
