So...uh...that Matt Campbell guy

In the craziest CFB HC carousel in quite some time (possibly ever), with LSU, UF, USC, OU, now ND, etc. changing HCs, he allegedly turned down USC. He previously turned down NFL offers as well.
If he doesn't seek out the ND job, what's his gameplan?
Are the rumors true he's going to the Chicago Bears? If not, then how blue of blood is this guy requiring?

I could see him being a lifetime contract in Ames kind of guy like Kirk Ferentz.

He came from Mount Union and the Kehres program.

NFL or bust.
The Bears probably will hire him, face a fan revolt, and fire him within 2-3 years.

I think its either NFL or ISU lifer. He does seem to really like the developmental process and have 4-5 year guys you develop relationships with vs. the meat market major CFB has become. He may want no part of it.

I guess I got too much SEC in me. Just seems so weird to invest so much in a profession for that.

It is possible that some guys are just happy where they are. Job Security without huge pressure like other schools have. Plus you make 4 Million a year. I could see being very happy in that situation. Low pressure with great pay to do what you love. Doesn't sound too bad to me.

supposedly he is just different. Huge family guy, likes the small town feel of ames and likes raising his family there. Likes not having to live in the office and getting to see his kids grow up all while still being extremely wealthy.
I respect the shite out of a family guy like that.
