Someone looking for a coach needs to call Denver DC Del Rio

Good coach that might consider taking a college head job. The end of his Jacksonville tenure is more on the upper mgmt. Denver's defense is solid under his watch and Jacksonville played a physical brand of football under him.
Would be a perfect fit for a SEC job.

Any head coach in the NFL is one hell of a coach.

He's waiting on the LSU job and his daughter goes to school here, or so I've been told for the past 6 years.

Has he been a college coach ever, or in the last 20 years?

You keep your filthy paws off of Del Rio. He is just fine doing his thing in Denver.

I don't think so. Which is why I personally wouldn't want Auburn to hire him.

I doubt he would be willing to talk until after the NFL season. They are trying to put together a super bowl run.

I wanted UT to call him from day 1, not sure why they haven't at least reached out to see if he has interest.

Von Miller's eligibility has run out.

I guess he fits what you are looking for. Dude has less college experience than Gruden.

quote:Panthers in 2001, 31th in total defense. In 2002 with Del Rio as DC, Panthers are ranked 2nd in total defense. In 2002, the Jags defense as ranked 20th. In 2003, in his first year as HC, the Jags defense was ranked 6th. In 2011, Denver was ranked 20th in total defense. So far in 2012 with Del Rio as DC, the Broncos are ranked 3rd.
Von Miller's eligibility has run out.
Panthers - 31st -> 2nd
Jags - 20th -> 6th
Broncos - 20th -> 3rd.
Whatever you think of him as a head coach doesn't matter. Jack Del Rio is an excellent defensive coach who immediately makes his team's defense much, much better. I wish the Saints good steal him.

He's our version of Gruden. The idiots in our fanbase have some inexplicable crush on him.

meh, it is a little different. Skip actually went to Jacksonville to talk to Del Rio. Owner of the Jags then decided he wanted to talk to Del Rio first. Jack asked Skip to wait until after that conversation for their meeting. Skip hopped back on the plane and came home because of his ego.

I've talked to coaches that worked for him. Treats them worse than Saban and has much less success.

He is definitely an NFL guy.
