Think about saying NO to 20 million. In 4 years at ULL he will make maybe 4 million with but out.

He just said not to a 4 year 20 million dollar payday with buyout.

Think about that and say to yourself WTF is Napier thinking.

He don't want that SEC smoke

Sometimes Coaches overextend themselves chasing money that backfires. If youre happy where you are, may be its best to stay and continue to build that place up.
How many times have you seen a HC at a school do very well, fans and players loved him then he runs to a top program and is out of a job in 2-3 years?

Where are you getting that figure? The most I’ve seen is $15-16 million

Mississippi State is a train wreck and he can make a lot of money at a much better situation.

If 20M fully guaranteed he should have done it.

Win 8+ games consistently and they might build you a statue in a field full of cow manure.

It’s already an unattractive job, Kiff moving into town assembling a great staff makes it even less attractive. Napier can wait on something better

Doubtful. No one coaching outside the SEC or at another P5 conference powerhouse would say no to that. You could coach 4 years and retire on a decent investment return.

I'm talking own a beach house in Florida and live a good retirement life without lifting a finger.

How much did USCe offer Herman? Pretty obvious the guy is betting he’ll be the hot name next year and is waiting on a bigger job. MSU is a dumpster fire that could torpedo his career for 10 years, and buyouts are almost always negotiated down or held up in court.

No one is going to have success at MSU! Smart career move for Napier! It would lower his coaching stock in the long run because you can’t recruit to MSU and have success and win. The right job will come along within a year or two for him and he will jump on it

I wouldn’t conclude anything until after ULL’s game.

no one is going to turn down that kinda money. sure, the sec west is daunting, but if he makes the right moves and talks right they will be patient. moorehead shot his mouth off from the get-go and was never a good fit.

their expectations are 7-8 wins with a big season of 9-10 once every 5 years and just to be competitive in most games.

someone hit it right - wait til after ULL's bowl game.

Why do people say you can’t recruit or win at State? I mean you aren’t going to pull Top 10 classes, but anywhere from 20-30 is very doable. Yeah, you ain’t winning Natty’s or any SEC titles at State, but you can consistently win 7-8 regular season games with a 9-10 win thrown in every 5 years or so. This isn’t 1985 anymore. If you do what I just stated at State, and it is very doable, someone like Napier can come in and get paid 4 million(Top 15/20 salary in the nation) a year for 3-4 years and then go chase championships at another school after that. If he fails he ain’t worth a shite anyway, and still gets probably 20 million out of it. I get it’s just the troll and cool thing to shite on State on here. He’d be a damn fool to turn down 4 million and a P5/SEC gig to stay at freaking ULL, unless he knows for a fact a better job is opening up next year and he for sure is getting in. That’d be a huge gamble.

He’s better then Mississippi State. He knows it and miss st knows it. He’s not destined to stay at ULL forever but next year they will have a really legit chance of winning 11 or 12 games. He will be have his pick of all the best open jobs next year. He doesn’t need to settle now
