Or even Co-DC, with someone else.

Co-DC with Raymond would be Woodward's Dream Team.

Somebody please post the Minnesota Vikings defensive secondary statistics after Jones took over. They plummeted to near the worst in the NFL. Fact.

Let's hire him anyway because we can't hire anybody fricking else.

Yes. I really like how he was fired 2 years ago because the DB play was so poor.

The Rant's ability to resolve cognitive dissonance by ignoring reality is remarkable.

That's not a problem with ignorant and psychotic Pump Nut Cheerleader types.

They ignore reality and wave the Pom Poms while the house (Trailer) they live in is burning down.........

The melt over interviewing one person that wasn't on this boards radar is hilarious.

The fact that you don't understand the implications of interviewing such a candidate is hilarious. The program should not be in a position to interview candidates like this.

OMG!!! They interviewed a guy who has connections to past and current lsu coaches who recommended him!!! Certainly this means the entire LSU football staff has lost their way and are doomed to fail.

Please enlighten me as to why interviewing someone recommended by your own staff and prior staff members is a terrible idea?

BTW I am not saying he should get the job or that he is who I want. I am just saying them interviewing him means absolutely diddly frick about the current state or future of the program. All that will matter a year from now is who we hired and did they get the job done.

Interviewing him definitely displays the state of the program. If you’re interviewing a mediocre NFL DB coach for this position you have either reached the bottom of the barrel or you’re doing a solid for someone else. If it’a a favor, i get it. If it’s a legit interview for the position, it’s a problem.

The guy worked with Aranda and one of his mentors is/was Mickey Joseph. Pretty sure that's why he got consideration to begin with. 'legit' interview or not doesn't matter.

If they hire the guy and LSU's defense performs really well under him then none of this stuff matters. That's my point. People are so wrapped up in the optics of the search when in reality no one really gives a frick outside of our fanbase. All that will matter is the product on the field. That's how this hire will be judged by rational people.

Optics? I don’t care about optics, i care about proven commodities. He’s not that. Now, if he turns out to be a great DC, i couldn’t be happier. I’m just saying, if this is what we’re down to as a legit option as DC at LSU. It’s not an optics problem, it’s a management problem.

This is what I don't understand. People say we're down to this guy yet there are other candidates being interviewed this week. He is literally one interview of several and people have lost their shite like we are begging him to come to LSU because everyone else said no. The top two candidates said no for reasons out of LSU's control. Now they are interviewing others. Some may have more potential than others but interviewing more and a variety of candidates doesn't mean anything about the future success of LSU football. If Jones was all we could get then yeah I would agree with you but no reports have said anything like that. He is just one candidate of many.

Jones will be announced as DC this week

So that means he’ll get a raise from his current employer and stay with the Vikings?

What are the implications?

We can certainly debate whether he is a good hire or not, but your suggestion that a simple interview belies some deeper evil is ridiculous.

LSU wont stand a chance if the investigation reveals inaction by the football staff, regarding multiple rapes

Well no shite but we're talking in what ifs. So until something more definitive comes out regarding the investigation I don't see them firing O for cause.

Yep. And O will have proven himself again...until LSU loses the next game, then he's a fraud again.

You have to think with his resume the interview(s) were 100% spot on.

And that matters too. As long as the questions were, what's the word.... probing & "what would you do in this situation".
