Doubt that. You can thank Woody for a ridiculous buyout that should've never happened. Ain't like O would've got disgruntled. If he did...bye. Doubt anyone would pick him up.

This DC hire has the Matt Canada feel all over again. Canada knows his stuff but just was not the right fit at LSU or with the coaches.

That’s a strong assumption for a guy who hasn’t really proven much.

The melt over interviewing one person that wasn't on this boards radar is hilarious.

Yep. Joe Brady wasn’t on anyone’s list either and that turned out to be a great hire.

Brady wouldn’t have been hired without Ensminger already in place as OC.

take a look at his buyout. He's not going anywhere

Yeah, uh, about that . . . . A massive Title IX hit by Emmert, and O is gone for cause. No buyout.

And have I ever mentioned just how tight Woodward and Emmert are?
quote:

Scott Woodward, University of Washington athletic director, said he thinks Mark Emmert got it right in using his power as the head of the NCAA to levy unprecedented penalties on Penn State. Emmert was the UW president before taking the NCAA job.

quote:

What does NCAA president Mark Emmert think of Woodward?

"He's an extraordinary judge of people and he can be an extremely persuasive salesman," Emmert said of Woodward in a 2016 Dallas Morning News profile. "Coaches, especially high-profile coaches, you need to understand who they are ... and what they really need and what their fit is with your culture and context."

Scott's step-son and Mark's daughter are married.

Every head coach should check with their fan's board prior to conducting interviews...don't you know that. The fans ALWAYS know so much more than the professionals. That is just a well known fact.

I think that while it is a possibility it's a long shot to say the least.

Yes. I really like how he was fired 2 years ago because the DB play was so poor.

The Rant's ability to resolve cognitive dissonance by ignoring reality is remarkable.

This DC search has been embarrassing.

Still time to hire a good fit, but I'm not holding my breath.

My only criteria for LSU's next defensive coordinator is that Orgeron personally selects the next defensive coordinator. No excuses or outside influences. Orgeron's buyout is $21 million after the 2021 season. Add $12 million or so to buyout assistants. Substantial improvement or burn it down.
