Look, I don't know if it's going to be E or not. I don't know if we have anyone else we're even trying to land. But, there are few things we CAN glean here.

1. If it is E, then this is SPECTACULAR incompetence. No, not hiring him(although bad). The incompetence is that if it's, pull the fricking trigger already. You've known you were firing Canada for at least 2 months now!

2. If it's not E, then theoretically, I guess we suddenly have the most rock solid leak proof athletic department in the history of college athletics.

3. This is the biggie. The primary worry of people like me when hiring O wasn't the fact he was a DL coach. It wasn't any of his actual coaching at all. The PROBLEM is that he had never proven that he can RUN A PROGRAM! And on that front, this whole thing is a goddamned certification of that concern.

No matter who gets hired, you simply cannot conclude that O demonstrated even a modicum of executive level leadership in the whole episode.

I said way back when he made that weird announcement about Canada looking for jobs that he was out to lunch. LOL @ people who didn't realize that he basically announced he was going to fire Canada way back in November.

But, since that time, there has been literally no indication that O is in charge of shite. People griping about Alleva. Save your arrows. That guy is incompetent but a fricking REAL head football coach would be controlling this shite.

LSU learned its lesson after the Herman fiasco. As soon as word hit the web that LSU was offering Herman, UT moved quickly to fire Strong and get Herman in play.

Herman's agent is the one that leaked it to ESPN. Whole thing was a ploy.

I upvoted, because what you said is true.

But, on Alleva, I'm sending arrows his way all day every day because he is the numbnut who made the hire. "I am the search." The Ogre is an incompetent, insincere, insecure buffoon. But, you can't really blame him for pursuing and taking the job. You can definitely blame any LSU leadership that thought it was a good idea.

It is absolutely amazing to me that people take suspicions as fact until proven otherwise and facts as suspicions until proven otherwise. CEO never said that E was going to be the new OC. He said that E could take MC place for the bowl if necessary. Yet 90% of the stuff being pushed is about how terrible it will be with E as permanent OC. Let CEO either move forward or fall to the side based on the facts of his work,... Not suspicions. GEAUX Tigers until it is revealed.

I just don't understand why O has to constantly meddle with the offense. He's a career defensive coach. If anything meddle on the defensive side. At least there's a chance he could actually bring something to the table on that side of the ball....but to constantly want to be involved on the offensive side I just don't get it. Why? He's known nothing but defense all his life yet all of a sudden wants to act like he's some great offensive mind. Hire an accomplished offensive coordinator and leave him the frick alone and let him do his job. O is like an auto mechanic trying to perform brain surgery when he deals with offense.

You can't spell Orgeron without O-G-R-E. Not sure how I hadn't noticed that before.

DV away, but the only time I heard this rumor was after Troy... which, by the way, we were all bitching about the penalties, the 7 points we put up on MSU, and barely beating Syracuse. Things weren't all rosey around here before that moment.

Some of you people are incorrigible.

If you think he basically fired Canada in November and was hands off the rest of the time, you're out of your mind.

And, please note. I'm not necessarily much of a fan of Canada. Jury was still out on him. But, it's really hard to judge a guy if you're not seeing ONLY his work.

It isn't a rumor. O said it in the press conference.
