pro-set

JJ doesn't have a quick enough release for a spread

and our only spread option QB is shep, who can't throw and we'd be like WV and essentially be an option team

Either JJ needs to be coached up (for the spread) or the OL needs to be shitloads better (for the pro-set) or, better yet, BOTH.

Oh, and can that option crap.

pro style with some allowance for special formations for special talents (like the wildcat)

hell, you could give me Jimbo's old playbook with someone else calling the plays and I'd be cool

More like a pro set. WE need to establish a core set of bread adn butter plays that we can dominate on. Reduce the number of formations and personnell packages, reduce the number of Shotgun snaps and use our talent in a system that will give them an advantage.

I think Ridley adn Ford will be great out of a pro-set. Our single biggest need of improvement is running the ball effectively. You will be amazed at how much better JJ looks with a solid and consistent running game.

I don' think you can do that with the spread offense with teh personnel we have. Jefferson is a pro-style QB and so is Garrett. Let's build around them.

I wish we could run an offense similar to what the Dolphins do in the NFL. Power running attack with a wildcat look and mix in a vertical passing game.

Good question. I like the pro-set much better in college. Great for recruiting top QBs, and it's easier to replace starters if you base your offense around a good OL and running game.

I don't really care as long as we can consistently move the ball and score points without having back breaking formation penalties or having to take a TO b/c the play is too slow getting in.

I think we should mirror the Saints offense, pass to set up the run

I like the spread. We just need to execute it better and have a greater variety of runs. That being said I think for overall program purposes we need to scale back the spread a little and add a few more pro set packages other than the I formation.

Id say 70% spread 30% proset
