Interesting that this leaks right after rumors of an NCAA investigation at A&M.

Huge loss for atm

I'd be shocked if he goes. I think he's HC material but I don't understand the move to Duke

He went to Penn and has coached at Wake Forrest and Notre Dame. Some guys just like jobs like Duke, Northwestern, and Vandy.

I’d think Robinson gets some sort of Co-DC role to retain him. Belk at UH interests me for sure, I have no idea what he runs. Elko isn’t super involved in recruiting so it’s not a huge loss on that front at least

I would guess we shoot for the stars and throw money at someone like Lanning first and make him say no

Either way I think we make a hire pretty quickly. Not the best time to have an unfilled coordinator spot

Yep. If we think Robinson is coordinator material I am fine with elevating him. He’s earned it and it’s only a matter of time before he leaves as well if he doesn’t get his chance with us

Jimbo should crawl on his knees to San Antone and beg the UTSA DCs to come. Hell CBK should beat him to it

Looks like Gattis is becoming the front runner at UVA. I wonder if Duke would choose TE over Elko

Any other news break? Sounds like the Aggie mod was just preparing just in case?

TexAgs is basically saying its done without explicitly saying it

At this point wed just need Duke to decide to go in a different direction for whatever reason

interesting hire and decision by elko.

Interesting isn't the word that would be downright weird. A school like offensive minded head coach. You not going to when 20-17 games consistently at a school like that because of talent. But a offensive coach can with average talent on offense out coach and scheme teams. A defensive HC doesn't work because he needs a great OC and will regularly have to replace them when they move on.
