Who do you even hire at this point? A lot of the best choices have already been taken and you have the NCAA breathing down your neck. I guess they are just going to have to take a risk.

Pat Shurmur. Former player and coach at MSU. NFL experience will be valuable in recruiting. Nick played his failed NFL stint into recruiting. Same with Pete Carroll at USC.

Man this is a really bad spot to put any AD in and even worse of a spot to put the school that loses a guy to MSU to start a search.

I wonder if the timing stuff is overrated, are we saying an up and coming G5 or FCS coach would turn Sparty down because it’s February 5th and not December 30th?

Drinkwitz got hired to Missouri after only being a head coach for one year at Appalachian State. That is a perfect example. There are others but got to get the one that fit best for the school.
