I thought this was an internet rumor, but ESPN just reported it. WOW!

How do they have back to back fired for cause coaches? So glad LSU didn’t hire Mel Tucker too.

Honestly, at this point Kelly or Jimbo would probably be considered a win. You get a guy who knows what he is doing at that level, ride him a couple years, and then get back into the market when there are options.

Brian Kelly, former LSU head coach

The former Notre Dame head coach was fired at LSU in October. But that won’t stop Michigan from taking a look at Brian Kelly, who will be one of the top available coaches this cycle. He is 297–109–2 as a head coach and brought the Fighting Irish back to national relevance.

This is a best place for Coach Brian Kelly actually. I know he had some issues but he can definitely resurrect that program with a guaranteed 9 win season with their schedule. I think Michigan may actually consider him given they always look for someone with HC experience. I don't think there is anyone good in the market as of right now as everyone that would have been good are pretty much taken. Kelly better not go on vacation/.golfing if he is considered if at all.

Kalen Deboer, Alabama

Currently in his second season with the Crimson Tide, Kalen DeBoer was rumored to be tied to the Penn State opening earlier this cycle. That was never going to be a factor. But DeBoer will surely be a factor in the Michigan search, sources have told On3. He has consistently won as an FBS head coach, bringing Washington to a CFP title game berth and now having Alabama in the playoff in his second season in Tuscaloosa. He would have been a popular name at Michigan when Sherrone Moore was hired, but he accepted the Alabama job before the Wolverines were in the market.
