I could have sworn I saw Saban coaching LSU in the 2004 C1 Bowl decked out in Miami gear..

This thread is weird.

Alabama fans get the warm and fuzzy comforts from his smile now?

Yeah. The man never smiles. Something is obviously up.

(Maybe he scored with Edwards' new wife? )

Y'all seem to think he cares about Alabama the way y'all do, which is of course completely absurd.

You are completely correct. He didn't go to school or grow up a Bama fan. He is the coach and the main thing he likes doing is coaching. I think he as grown fond of Tuscaloosa and I know he has a lot of friends here. Terry is the key. She loves Tuscaloosa and is not going to move unless something drastic happens. Nothing drastic has happened so she is staying. Personally I think he would be happy coaching at a high school but everyone loves the rewards of success and the freedom and opportunity it brings.

He could put this all to rest by coming out with a strong statement that he had signed the new contract and was staying in Gumpland. Some wouldn't beleive a word he says until UT hires someone else.

So you're saying he COULD end with a statement but some wouldn't believe him, therefore he COULDN'T end it with a statement?

If he came out and said he's all Bama, then he loses a lot of negotiating power.

Plus he'd probably be lying.

Terry loved Baton Rouge as well.

She will be alright no matter where she is, especially if Texas throws ridiculous money at Nick with the other perks we've already discussed.

"Rustling jimmies"...please. If the man wishes to leave I will say thank you for bringing Alabama back and then we will go hire someone else to continue to kick your asses.

Which we would do in this case.

All the evidence says he is staying. People that have spoken to him directly say so.

My guess is as good as any of yours but it appears to me as if you have a huge fight going on internally at Texas one group wanting Mack Brown out at all costs and one that supports him.

This could have been handled behind the scenes and allowing Mack to take a bow and leave with honor intact but so much bovine feces has been spewed its almost as bad as if Joseph Goebbels had escaped from Hell and was running the propaganda campaign.

Substitute"The Eyes of Texas" for "The Horst Wessel Lied" and there you go.What a mess.

Not a situation that a control freak like Nick Saban would find ideal.

How ever this ends up I do know one thing for a fact. Should he go I will be around to post thanks for the memories. Should he stay a lot of the names you see here won't be. Long gone.

One day sure. But history teaches us that we do not stay down.

And if we do,no guarantee who will rise now is there?

Let's call this like it truly is. WHY the hate, envy etc etc?

In the case of LSU, only one coach and team has stopped them from being a dynastic program in the Les Miles era. Miles has put together teams that probably would have dominated the SEC and college football if not for Nick Saban and Alabama.

I would go so far as to say with no Nick Saban at Bama LSU has at least 2 crystal footballs and maybe more.

And he used to be THEIR coach. And they know what I have posted is right.

Auburn was ruling the state of Alabama. Tubby was taunting the entire program and the simple act of shoving those fingers in the Bama fans face for so long was a source of immense pride to the entire Auburn Nation.

Enter Nick Saban. Tubs loses ONE game to Alabama and he is forced out. Then Saban wins a big one.

Auburn strikes back with Cam Newton....so Alabama wins the next TWO.

Aubies should actually thank Saban,he has forced them to raise their game otherwise they would be crushed. To their credit they have.

But the problem IMO is Aubie measures his success vs Alabama...Nick Saban measures his by championships won. If the Gus Bus does not win the big game this year it will be fine by the fans, they beat Alabama.

If Alabama had beaten Auburn and not won the season by Saban standards would have been sub par. That is the difference in the two the fans know it and as long as Saban is there he is a threat to what they want the most.

So there you have it. The truth. Like it or not.

This is so cute. You expect Saban to be a "fan" of Alabama and to love it like you do - so you look for what pin he wears on his lapel and if it is the script A, well, then that must mean he loves Alabama too.

Saban doesn't have a Bear Bryant shrine in his "study" like thousands of Bama fans do, ok?

He doesn't wear houndstooth underwear.

Saban is all about Saban. You'll see.

Bingo. All this talk about a contract physically sitting on his desk since last Friday is really pretty baseless. But Finebaum said it so it's got legs.

Three more things to help you sleep better:

"You come to a crossroads and the expectations get so great, people get spoiled by success and there gets to be a lack of appreciation," Terry Saban said in an interview. "We're kind of there now." Expectations

The agent for coach Nick Saban told Texas officials in January that Texas was the only school he would consider leaving Alabama for, and his success with the Crimson Tide had put him under "special pressure," LOL

The silence.
Shhhhhhhh

Gumptards, ignore these three things and it will help block out the big and bright writing on the wall. It's gotta be a tough pill to swallow that your own fans ran off the greatest coach in the history of college football during a dynasty run. I hope this helps.
