Atlanta May fire their HC. Nielsen could be looking for better pastures. Been in nfl a while but has college background. He’s legit AF and could use this as a HC stepping stone.

What exactly about his resume makes you feel that way?

Scheme is versatile. He specializes in defensive line. Has produce and coached some of the best. Has resume and true fire in his personality. Players love him.

He was very good as the Saints DL coach when Sean was HC.

He did, but Payton could’ve done that so Nielson didn’t have to tell O no himself. Also, the writing was all over the wall that O was dead man walking.

If you can get Nielsen for DC, you can get Karl Dunbar for DL coach.

Come on, those guys aren’t taking the same position they currently coach in the NFL in college.

Especially when they would have to deal with recruiting, NIL and the transfer portal.

They’d prob rather the pay cut to stay in the NFL than deal with the bullshite of college players/NIL/portal now.

You'll have to call Ed Orgeron and ask him to call Sean Payton to request permission for Nielsen to leave the NFL in Atlanta to be the Defensive Coordinator at LSU.

Capiche?

"Shrimpy" didn't do that so we got stuck with a "Non-Interviewed" Bo Pelini and NFL DB Coach Daronte Jones as DC's in 20 and 21, instead of Nielsen......

Payton is such a dildo - I’ll always be grateful for the Super Bowl but that’s proven to be mostly Brees.

Buddy of mine played at Central Connecticut State in 2008 when he coached there. When rumors of LSU going after him came up, he told me that EVERYONE from staff to players absolutely HATED this guy. Said he was the rudest and doucheist man he’d ever met

I don't know about his DC resume', but his DL position coach results were off-the-charts consistent & impressive, whether at NC St or the Saints.

At NC St, he got Bradley Chubb drafted into the first round, along with getting Chubb's other 3 DL teammates drafted in the 2nd & 3rd rds that same year.

In Ryan's first year with the Saints, he got Cam Jordan his 1st All-Pro selection, then 2nd team All-Pro the next two years. Then either got Pro bowl or career best production out of a revolving cast in Trey Hendrickson, Okafor, Onyemata, Granderson & even Davenport. Saints' DL was a consistent dominate force when Nielsen was DL coach.
