I can only speak for myself…. But yes Saban isn’t happening and I certainly won’t be in any way disappointed if it’s not Saban because I recognize that it probably won’t happen. LSU will get a good coach no matter what IMO.
And yes it’s absolutely a fun ride during coaching changes season especially when LSU is involved.

I don’t doubt that we put an offer out there to Saban. People have been saying, you make him say no. However, I seriously doubt he would take the job at this point in his life. It’s ridiculous money but he already has plenty of money. I don’t think he wants the headaches that CFB HC’s have to deal with now.
Saying all that I hope I am wrong and he just hates being on ESPN and wants to compete again.

He retired for a reason and if he came back it would only be because you paid him 20+ million a year to do it, which is the same issue you had with Kelly. That’s not to say Saban would spend half his time in the golf course like Kelly did, but it’s an idea that’s born out of nostalgia for all of us that remember the early 2000’s and not a serious attempt to be forward looking as the sport continues to move into a new era.

Except Saban would give it his all because he would know what failure at LSU 2.0 would mean for his legacy. If he were to come back to LSU, he's winning a title. No ifs, ands, or buts about that in my mind.

I do believe there are only two places he'd even entertain returning to and we're one of them, but I'll believe it when I see it. He seems content in retirement in this new crazy landscape.
It wouldn't shock me at all if we at least reached out to gauge his interest though.
