quote:

USC easy. No Saban to worry about every year. Les Miles did a hell of a job but couldn’t beat Bama and had to eventually go.

If you turn around USC you can dominate west coast recruiting and networks will be clamoring for you. Easier path to the playoffs as well

quote:

USC because look at the leash our admins gave Helton (3.5 bad to mediocre seasons), imagine the latitude an actually good coach would get.

quote:

LSU so I can bring my girlfriends to practice without my wife knowing.

quote:

USC

The SEC is a meat grinder and the expectations are higher considering that all 3 of the previous coaches brought Championships to Red Stick

quote:

I do think LSU is the better job, with a better AD and a school who is 100% invested in the football program. USC is a football school but not on that same top to bottom institutional level.

That said, I'd rather in in Los Angeles making $8M a year, but I'm obviously biased.

quote:

USC is the easiest choose. Easiest path to playoffs, beautiful location, and no lack of funding. Use NIL to your advantage to get recruits, with Hollywood nearby & the influencer culture here you can get these kids to make some great money. The new USC coach’s number one priority in recruiting is to stop the flow of SoCal recruits to the SEC.

quote:

Yall guys arent thinking this through. If I get to pick between the both of them I'm easily picking LSU. Why, you might ask, because...

-The 3 previous coaches won a championship within their first 3 years.

-Their AD spends so much money, he thinks bananas cost $10.

And thats it. I can get quick success, but more importantly, I get a fat paycheck and a huge buyout. I'm getting so much more money at LSU in my first 4 years than I would ever get at USC. Especially if I get canned.

quote:

USC there is a massive talent vacuum out west right now and USC has the brand name to not only get all the good recruits with a good coach but also go out and recruit nationally.

quote:

Both cities have shithole aspects, but Louisiana? Nice to visit, but screw living there

quote:

LSU. Steel sharpens steel. Better recruiting area. Plus that pacific time zone is a killer.

quote:

USC, and it isn't even close.

Much easier conference, wayyyy easier division, better recruiting area (though NOLA is great too), better weather, easier to recruit, blue blood, etc.

USC is the clear choice here. Play Bama and Florida every year, or Utah and Arizona State.

that is a tough one. much easier path to the playoffs for a good coach at sc. kinda like the situation at clemson.

The funny thing is, if everything half the posters said was true, USC wouldn’t be in the mess they’re in. There’s a reason our last 3 coaches have won a NC here, including Les Miles and Ed Orgeron.

The people who say USC have the image of Pete Carroll having 100 celebrities on the sideline tattooed into their brains and think thats just something that can come back

That era is dead and it’s not coming back. The USC administration doesn’t care to bring it back, athletes don’t care about celebrities the same way these days because they are the celebrities now. And the realignment and playoff expansion is only going to expand the gap between the SEC teams and USC going forward unless the PAC 12 makes drastic changes in response (which would make the “easier path” argument somewhat obsolete as well)

But, isn’t that “easier path” going away with the expanding playoff coming?

I think 2 or 3 SEC teams make it. Not just 1.

I’m sure the California liberals that sit on Reddit all day are going to be really unbiased. Anyone who says USC in 2021 has brain damage. LSU has so much more recent success and talent on the roster it isn’t even funny

The issue with USC is the same as it is for the rest of the Pac12... Exposure... Half of their big televised games start when the entire east coast is going to bed.

All these people that say USC is the "prettier" location....umm, have you ever been to USC's campus? Yeah, its breathtaking no doubt. The minute you set foot off campus you might as well be in Beirut. Its in the middle of a warzone

No amount of running into b list movie star's at Pink's at 2 AM getting a greasy chili dog is going to make up for that shite.

tru dat. was just thinking of the current format. if it went to 8+ teams then i'd say LSU is the better job.

Playoffs in 5 and win a title in 10??? That ND fan knows nothing about expectations at LSU.

It's going to be really interesting to see if USC can take full advantage of this. This has the potential to be a game changer for them.

Fun fact, every non-Alabama national champion since Saban’s arrival has had to either beat Alabama, or beat the team that did beat Alabama to get there. This narrative that you dodge Saban by being in a different conference is bullshite. If you want to win a championship, you have to rise above the elephant in the room no matter where you are.

LSU won a natty with Les Miles and Ed Orgeron. USC washed out Sark, Kiffin, and Helton in that same timespan without anything to show for it. It’s not even close.

You might make the playoffs at USC easier. But you aren’t winning it all easier.

maybe we should ask why the East Coast stayed up to see Leinart and Bush... they're going to bed now because the games aren't worth staying up for

I think it would suck to live in California right now. That is why people are leaving in droves.
