But he certainly carried on the tradition and added to it.

LSU will still attract top DB talent because Louisiana HS puts out top DB talent.

There are plenty of great defensive coaches that can come here and carry on DBU and continue to put LSU DB’s in the league.

Florida can eat a bag of dicks.

Correct. And a lot of people don't understand what Ron Cooper was here. DBU started with people like Pat Pete. That's Ron Cooper. Raymond was a S&C GA or some shite back then. He carried it well...but LSU was DBU before and can be after.

I haven't seen much DBU the last few years. Everyone needs to chill out on this. Kelley has won everywhere he has been. He will here too. You can't hold on the past. The program needs a reset and he is doing it.

We have fallen off in recruiting the top DBs the past few years. Everyone points to Sting and Ricks, but we have been very average otherwise. Now, the fact that those 2 opted out or got injured too often shouldn't rest on Raymond's shoulders.

I have made a few posts pointing this out and got de-nutted always. But, the facts are clear, we are not elite the past 3-4 years in upholding the DBU tradition.

IMHO always, Geaux Tigers!

Agreed. I am not knocking Raymond's overall body of work. However, I've seen more DB's blow coverage, give up on plays, half arse arm tackle and have a selfish "me 1st " attitude off the field the last 2 years than I ever have watching LSU football.

Very true, we can appreciate what he helped sustain for a few years after Cooper left and still realize the whole DBU deal gets a bit watered down when we’re ranked in the 90’s and 120’s in pass coverage, have corners and safeties opting out and constantly having attitude problems. Wouldn’t be opposed to us making a run at Cooper, assuming he’s past the whole fibbing about what he’s doing on recruiting trips deal.

Cory Webster and other players made DBU.

Not Raymond.

It's all the cornerbacks coaches fault.

That's a fair assessment. I know many hate to see him go (myself included), given his many ties and what he brought to the program- but that's coaching today.

LSU will be fine, because Kelly knows what it takes to build and maintain a sustained level of success.

I feel better today after sleeping on it. LSU fans haven’t had a hard reboot in over 20 years, so these kinds of moves are a shock to the system.

I just go back to Pete Sampson talking about CBK when he first got to ND. He made a lot of changes and pissed off a lot of people. That’s where we are at.

Why are people assuming he was pushed out, maybe he wanted a different challenge?
