I don't know of a specific letter ot dictate that precludes hiring Pruitt. (If I remember correctly, UT fired him because members of his staff were committing recruiting violations, and he didn't have proper oversight... So, to my mind, he isn't technically guilty of anything.)
That being said, I think he's still in a Mexican standoff with UT. He sued them for the remainder of his contract ($12M or so???) and I think there are insinuations that it could get ugly with both sides dragging each other through the mud. Don't know where that case stands. If it settles or he drops it, he'd be an interesting choice.
