First off, the article was an attempt at satire. Not a legitimate list of landing spots for Fleck.

How do you know??? Do you know him or just making assumptions based off ZERO real information. And the idea that just because he has rebuilt a MAC team is not proof he is not ready.
He might not be my first choice but he sure the heck is in the interview pool!! There is too many analyst with more football knowledge than most this board that think he is ready for the next level, not saying they are always right but to say he isn't ready with zero facts........... just an ignorant statement!

He's from the Chicago area. He's been involved with the MAC as a player and as a coach longer than anywhere else. He's also divorced with young children. No one can read his mind, but that is not ZERO real information. That's information worth considering before viewing him as a realistic candidate for an elite-level job in the SEC.
Fleck looks like a good coach and a fantastic recruiter, but can we at least see if he can win his division first? Darrell Hazell and Dave Doeren even did that before they moved on and they sure as hell didn't land anywhere like LSU.

These are the only coaches on your list who went directly from the MAC to their current jobs.
They currently have a combined record of 45-54 since leaving. The other coaches made other stops before they got where they are today.
If you throw in Darrell Hazell, which you conveniently left off, the record is 54-86.

Why is it BS to think he might not want to leave his kids now when this is the longest he's ever held a coaching job? Why is it BS to think that a lifelong Midwesterner who coaches in front of crowds of less than 20K is not ready for the SEC? Why is it BS to acknowledge that top programs don't hire head coaches away from the MAC?

Watched those videos and he comes off as a tool. He couldn't recruit against Meyer or Saban. He is perfect for Arky.

It's already been pointed out in this thread why he isn't a viable candidate for LSU now. MAC coaches don't get hired away into elite jobs and they don't have a successful track record when other P5 schools hire them. Fleck's most impressive win is Illinois and he's yet to play for a conference title.
