And that is playing out right now. Maybe $12.5M/yr is not a big lure when you know that you could get let go at any point. Looks like most people prefer job security at half the salary.

Orgeron goes 15-0 then loses 18 starters and both coordinators and goes 5-5 in a fake Covid season. Then gets fired after a BIG WIN a few games into the next season.

You can be mad about this take and disagree with it. Or you can wake up.

You can wake up and realize coach O was a train wreck who destroyed the program in 2 years after the greatest season in college football.

O had to go dude. Wasn't a panic fire at all. We needed a miracle to make a bowl. We finished last in the west. It's over

Yeah - I personally don’t think expectations were realistic given complete roster and coaching turnover in a 12 month period.

Not many programs could sustain that and win.

I agree. But we could have waited until literally today to let him go. Firing after a win helped NOTHING.

This is because of O and not Woodward. If O was 8-4 the last few years (not a crazy feat…) he’d still be here.

We’re 11-11 the last two years, and for much of that time have looked bad doing it

If O knew what he was doing that never would have happened and he’d still be the coach

His off the field antics had a lot to do with it.

We could have waited until today to fire him. That’s the point. The mid season firing after a big win helped nothing. That’s obvious now.

Every single coach knows Ed is a shite coach who didn’t deserve to be hired in the first place.

Things were toxic inside the building, making that move cleared at least some of that up

Its not that he didn't contend for a title every year.

Its that he had to fight to not have a losing record for each of the following years.

Also, Look at the departures and the swath of convenient injuries....he made a culture where all that is regarded as a option and acceptable.

The massive success of the two worst seasons in decades. Orgeron lost his shite after 2019.

I won't say it wasn't justified but the midseason firing left us with the impression we were prepared to get a jump on the rest of the CFB world. Here we are seemingly getting left at the altar anyway.

So LSU has been a well-coached team the last two years?

The worst take possible on this board is the "dey shoulna fahred mah couzan Ed" take. Regardless of who Woodward pulls in it's going to be an upgrade over Orgeron.

The team improved greatly after O was fired, dude was in over his head and he knew it. Dude was so relieved to get fired.

Orgeron would not have been fired this year if the only issue was the win/loss count. It’s that coupled with off field issues (some that aren’t very public yet).
