OU insider interview on Lincoln Riley to LSU and why he missed his press conference today

Ryan Aber of the Oklahoman talked candidly about Lincoln Riley’s chances of leaving OU for LSU. Surprised me with a bunch of his answers.

Yeah all I got was him saying he didn’t show up to a press conference and doesn’t know why. Then said message board chatter is message board chatter.

The video was posted 33 mins ago and the length is over an hour in a half, from what I heard about 15 minutes in , He is not coming and has a $10m buyout and OU can match any LSU offer.

Totally understand.
He said OU prides itself on not overpaying coaches and he’s not sure if it would match LSU’s best offer.
He said they are hoping moving to the SEC will elevate the recruiting at OU bc that’s what’s holding back OU in the Playoffs.
He also said LR is a passionate recruiter and deeply enjoys recruiting on top of being an offensive guru. Honestly a few of those answers should have LSU fans salivating.
He did ultimately say his gut says he stays at OU, but he’s not dismissing LSU’s chances.
That’s my best try off the top of my head.

I’ll believe it when I see it. He’s got it made where he’s at and even though LSU may be a top 5 job, OU is still a top 10 job.

That's exactly why I think Jimbo stays where he is.
It wouldn't be a very 'Woodward' hire if he goes and hires a guy he hired 7 years ago and on top of that, Woodward now has Jimbo's body of work to look at. When Woodward got Mulkey to leave Baylor which I never thought would happen and the Johnson hire in baseball looks great too.
His (Jimbo) best season since he was hired was last year, if memory serves.
It's not up to me but I'd be underwhelmed if he hires him.
