OU saw massive decommitments almost instantly and more are expected along with several transfers.

Most of the ND recruits I’ve seen comment I’ve already affirmed their commitment

I think it’s a good hire, but it’s odd that nobody around ND seems to care at all

Notre Dame will be fine, better off than OU. Luke Fickell is and old school Catholic, probably goes to the Liturgy in Latin, I think he has 6 kids. He is a Midwest guy and LSU's Media who talk to Ohio State and ND media say the 2 jobs that Fickell would run to are Ohio State and ND.

ND will either hire Fickell or promote Freeman, who was considered the top DC in the market last year. LSU went after him, Kelly got him.

Notre Dame fans didn't care much for him. He fired his OC just about every year, yet stuck his nose and overrode the plays during game time. He also runs a "classic B1G offense". I'm not sure if LSU fans are ready to go back to the i-formation.

People at ND don’t care about their 11-1 coach leaving? Wow. Good for us.

My brother-in-law law is a lifelong ND fan and season ticket holder.

He is not happy about this. Says most of his friends are also not happy.

IMO, it’s because ND is more about the heritage of the institution and less about any one person.

Well see how much the miss him when they go 6-6, 5-7, 8-4, 7-5 over the next four years. After 10+ win seasons every year.

Because most of the ND commits go there to play at ND, not necessarily a certain coach.

That’s actually a very solid point

bucknut: Was his offense a function of the personnel he can recruit to ND. If you don't have elite WR, then you can't go 4 WR set. If you can get big OL and TE's, then that is the best way you can run an offense.

He won with the personnel that he could recruit to ND. He can get elite WR at LSU.

Few places probably “recruit the school” more than ND.

The truth is you’re trying to find a passive aggressive way to shite on the hire. It doesn’t matter how many times you repeat your made up gibberish, nobody believes you.

…and here’sa link to one of their message boards. Not a whole lot of fist bumping and happy talk going on in there

Their anger seems to be more centered around an SEC team taking their coach than mad Kelly is leaving. He has been there forever so I'm sure most are just ready for something new.

Not true, I spent a hour on 3 different ND forums and huge majority are disappointed BK leaving, most are in shock. a few pretend to glad he is leaving to cover up the pain lol...... kinda like some of you were when LR went to USC!

Lol, yeah because he's got them an upset or lucky bounce away from being in the CFP a third time since 2018? I'm sure they're happy we took him away
