Orgeron has often said he wanted to let the coaches coach by “keeping his foot of the gas”.

He now has a defensive coordinator who’s style is more like his.

What should we expect next season?
Better, worse, or no significant difference?

We'll give up more big plays but also make more big plays. That's what happens with an "attacking style" defense

I don't like having an extra fat guy on the field against spread offenses.

The idiots on this board cried about Aranda this season but the fact of the matter is that Aranda was an absolutely incredible DC.

The only reason the defense fell short this season is because the offense was an absolute juggernaut and putting up 50 a game. That many possessions by opposing offenses is going to provide many more opportunities.

I have no problem with Pelini but people need to take the LSU glasses off and stop shitting on Aranda simply because he left. Dude was offered a great opportunity at a program only a couple pegs below LSU HC. He took his shot. Shooters shoot. Let the man live.

Better. Fact is late in the season when the D was more aggressive and showing more of a 4-3 we were better.

I still love the 3-4. Give me that speed. You can also hide your blitzes much better. You can create simulated pressure better.

Aranda was a monster.

Clemson was 1 for 11 on 3rd down.

LSU finished the season ranked 6th in the country in 3rd down D. I find this stat more important than yards given up, because LSU scores so much that yardage given up isn't always important to overall stats.

Absolutely incredible what Aranda did after the Ole Miss game. Best D in football when it mattered most.

We also ranked #2 in the SEC. Something that alot of people don't realize when they whine about Aranda.

Pelini will set his defenses to stop whatever his opponent offenses require him to disrupt regardless of base defense. Bo will also put the best players of the field.

Aranda’s scheme, as it pertains to DL, sucked. O wants an aggressive front, which he will now have

This post really shows how ignorant people are

We didn’t show more 4-3 it was still a 3-4 we just were able to get pressure successfully with our 3 DL and BOLB.

It doesn’t take a defensive guru to realize when your best pass rusher gets 4.5/6 Sacks in the last 4 games you’re gonna look better.

Also Delpit getting healthy.

Championship and accolades aside, Aranda pulled off one of the greatest coaching jobs I've ever seen this season. His adjustments over the season were nuts and he had the boys playing their best ball in what should've been the hardest part of the season. Yeah we started off shaky but they turned it up when it mattered.
